Apparently, if you empty your basket (at Ebuyer), login to your account, then add it again the price is actually only £49.99! LinkyThat said, I tried this myself and couldn't get it to show the £49.99 price.

Just been out on the bike with the NaviTom in my pocket, running off head phones. Worked great, instructions clear even over the mighty roar of an XJ600 ;D In the absence of a decent mount the audio only will do for now, probably less distracting that looking at the screen.

Today got my Navigo - looks good - especially at £49.99 inc free postage! That price came up as soon as I'd registered with ebuyer. I run TT6 on my PDA no probs but I think I need a set of hacking instructions to let me load the programs to make mine a NaviTom. Can some clever very nice guru send me a PM? PLEASE. I have Memory Maps to barter (wink).

Hi there..Mind if i join in on the discussion on this?..and please forgive my naievety on ther whole GPS and motorcycles thing.. I've just bought a bike and intend going touring to France/Spain this summer. My research showed there was this "Rider" GPS system specifically designed for motorcycles...Further research showed its really expensive compared to a car one and I couldn't justify the money..even if I had it.. Enter EBuyer and the Navigo...I've bought one & through my sources have obtained TT V 6.0 & Mio maps ..Great so far!! 1)Ok Ok here is the crux of he question...You can't hear the voice directions through a helmet...So I've bought from Poundland one of those cheap radios (which i've chucked away)....but it came with a set oh headphones which plug into the Navigo ear phones socket ..and it works!!!!!!!!!! So chaps is this the right solution for going touring and listening to the voice telling you where to go??..or is there a better one 2) I guess its going to take more than 4-5 hrs to get to Spain so what am I going to do about power for the thing? ..Is there an easy way of linking into the bikes electrics anyone know?? 3) Finally ..the mounting of the thing..Is there a cheap solution available or anyone designed anything...All the solutions so far look like they cost as much or more than the navigation system! 4) Finally Finally...Waterproofing ..any thoughts??? Thanks chaps

1) + 4) I put mine in the map pocket of my tankbag = view screen for navigation AND waterproofs it. I have thought about getting a bluetooth headset for the helmet (not cheap) and a bluetooth audio adaptor to plug into the Navigo. 2) Fit a ciggy lighter socket under the seat and use the power adaptor that came with the Navigo. I fitted one of these and it works a treat. 3) See my answer to 1) + 4). ;D

I got a neat ciggie lighter kit from ebay pre-wired and fused. All I had to do was connect it to the battery. I this it was a bout £8, which might seem alot but I'm hopeless with electrics so it was money well spent in my case. Whatever you do, make sure you fit an in-line fuse.
The TomTom Rider 2 looks ace, but costs £350 and has no extenal speaker so if wanted to use it in the car you have to buy a special mount that includes speakers. This costs about £40. Total it up and it's halfway to a new bike!
Edit: just noticed the link in Fuego's post. That's the socket I bought and can confirm it's nicely put together.

Any thoughts on the "walkman style" earphones I'm using..Obviously it means a lead coming out the helmet into the Navigo..and yes Bluetooth would be lovely but its expensive and my earphones cost a quid! On the charging thing...Is the idea that you run the Navigo on battery and then recharge overnight at camp site etc using the inline charger or are you going to charge it and run of bike battery whilst riding along.. Heck i've spent £50.99 on this so far so want some answers

Has anyone else who has bike-powered their NaviTom noticed that it doesn't actually charge when running? Only when off??? Mine seems to drain the onboard battery, which is how I noticed as I thought it would charge whilst running. (Switch it off, & the charging light comes on.)

Gotta say mine seems to charge while switched on, but I haven't really looked closely. (Well - it certainly seems to in the car anyway. Don't see why the bike should be any different if it's a 12V battery).
@jogger - I have mine plugged in to the ciggy socket whilst I'm riding the bike.

What are you guys doing for earphones? Last time I used it I borrow MrsM40Man's Ipod earphones. Output was only mono to one earpiece though. I had ther unit in an inside jacket pocket for that little test. 'Twas fine. Any cheapo 'phones will do - I have a more comfortable pair (less bulk on the ear) which work fine too.

With your track record of wiring aux sockets up, why doesn't this surprise me? Did you and Fi both attend the masterclass in reverse polarity wiring? ;D trev

Martin, don't know where you're going wrong mate?
Haven't personally tried headphones on it but if it's a stereo Mp3 player isn't it a stereo jack? Mine's connected through the Autocom via a stereo lead and unless it's a coincidence that the audio is sent down the correct channel, it works fine....will have to try it with headphones.....didn't it work ok when you first got it and tried it with the Derby Run video at work?
Also, mine charges when connected by the 5v 1A lighter socket lead.....on a couple of occasions I've got in the car and forgotten to connect the power lead, it's then run the battery down....I've realised...connected it and whilst navigating it's gone from red LED indication to green.
I'm not sure if the USB will carry enough power to do the same....I hope so 'cos I'm looking to power mine on the bike via the USB socket....
Rgds headphones.....any of the "bud" ones now available should be fine for long journeys.....they have a foam bit that sits in the ear canal, helping both to shut out external sound and ensure a comfortable fit.....surely better than cheapo sets? Expect to pay about a tenner for a pair.
A lot of us use full on bike intercoms on the bike, so we connect the NaviGo/GPS to them via cables and into our helmet speakers that way.

Has anyone else had problems with the capacity of 2GB SD cards? The Europe maps & TT6 programs overfilled mine so at the moment NaviTom is only playing UK. (Many thanks M) I checked a few different SD cards and some seem to have different capacities even when newly formatted. - Very strange indeed - I thought that computer systems worked on logic & numbers - silly me! Now I'm going to try one of my 4GB SD cards to see if that'll work in Navitom.

I got a Veho 2GB SD card and it works fine in the NaviTom. On it I've got ...
Western+Central Europe Eastern Europe Canary Islands South Africa
... and it all runs fine. (Only got a few MB left, but that's fine for itinerary files etc.)
On the original 1GB card I put the USA+Canada maps.
