Hi I bought one of these www.motorcyclepowersockets.com/to provide power to the Navigo whilst on the bike. I can confirm its a really nice of kit and the guy supplying it extremely helpful with fast delivery. I've bought some gel ear plugs and a tank bag so looking good! I wonder if they will sell them again for 49.99?

Look back a couple of pages ... I got the exact same thing. Yes, it is really nice. (And that website was made by one of my friends on another forum I frequent).

Managed to blow the fuse in the charger. The end of the plug fell off and deposited the fuse in the lighter socket, causing a short that blew the fuse. So no NaviTom until I get another one.

You can also use a USB charger in the slot on the left if you have one.
Suits me fine as that's also what I use for my phone in the car.
Regards
Dave

Never saw the point of a wide screen sat nav as the only thing you are looking at is the line up the middle. ;D

I suspect cheapest is best for Sat navs.
At the other end of the scale, I have a Samsung Q1 ultra mini laptop with 7" touch screen. It can take Sat nav software etc and the 800 x 480 screen can be rotated. I have it because my books are ridiculously heavy and its great for taking lecture notes. I was also lucky to get it for £500. No way I'd pay the normal prices.
But it would make a great Sat Nav especally in tall screen mode, of course its too big and fragile for a bike.

Reaper I use a wide screen TomTom that is set up so all the info is down the side of the screen, that way I don't lose any height on the display.

The widescreen version is now down to £85.
Don't know if it has already been mentioned but there are some useful downloads on this site for the Navigo

Nice find Neil. This TYRE software is awesome. Absolutely love google maps but trying to knock up a route on there is hard work and TYRE does it all so easy, easier than Autoroute too - and of course free. ;D
Superb, only gripe is the postcode search where it only looks up the first part of the postcode. I'm sure they'll do something about that if they're using the google engine for the lookup.

Tyre is nice. But it is with a heavy heart that I must announce the death of my Navitom. It is no more. It is an ex-Navitom. Anyone else killed theirs

Come on Martin, you can't leave it like that . At least tell us how you managed to kill it so we can all avoid the same mistake. Cheers Keith

.. tell us how you managed to kill it so we can all avoid the same mistake. Never got it wet, hardly actually used it. Powered it by charging from a mains adaptor or PC USB lead. I just switched it on this weekend, & nothing . Tried the tiny reset, but as it seems there is no power (at least to the screen) there was nothing much to reset.

12v power lead from the bike finally killed it Martin?
