Yes, quite a tasty little thing isn't she ? ;D Shame about the Northern accent, but the way she handles 3.5 inches makes her perfectly qualified to look after me Dave ;D

The Navigo arrived today. Initial impressions are that it's a cracking piece of kit for the money. All necessary bits, mount, USB cable, 12v charger lead and 1Gb SD card come complete in the box and the upgrade to 7 digit postcode search downloaded from the eBuyer site installed painlessly. The audio prompts aren't overly annoying with the issued software and as a standalone unit without the mods to put TomTom etc. on, would do just fine for your average user...... But, time to play, mod it and make it suitable for use on a bike - ok it's not waterproof in any way, but I'll be searching for a bike mount (tankbag mount til then ), putting TTv6 on it and trying "Tyre" out with it and will link it to the Autocom. Will keep you posted as time goes on, but at £59.99 delivered - it is truely a bargain imho.

Mine arrived yesterday morning too - after buying it Thursday! Excellent delivery time, I thought. Used it in the c*r yesterday - we argued a bit, but it picked up & kept sats well. No problems. I played with loading some vids & music - plays very well. No one suspected a thing at work until I started playing the Derby 2005 run video without plugging my ear phones in properly ;D. I downloaded the upgrade & installed that at work too - no problems. I'd be fascinated to hear how putting TT6 goes, Neil. Used a TT once, I did like it .

I don't believe it! What a rip off! I think I'll do what all these iPhone people have done and complain about the price drop. ;D Ref. Routes, I found setting it for a "Slow Car" and "Shortest Route" when adding an address made it use the B-Roads much more. Less shouting at the box occurred then; I became at one with the sage that was guiding me.....

What type of AC adaptor does this unit require? i.e., what voltage and current?

I just have one of these................... Covers a multitude of uses. Search FleaBay etc. for something akin to "POWER INVERTER CONVERTOR ADAPTOR AC/DC 240V to 12V CAR" Rgds, Neil Alternatively, a mains-USB power adapter will do. The kind intended for Mp3 players such as iPods etc.
Depends which one you'll find most useful I suppose.....

Nice! I'm thinking about getting one of these GPS units but was concerned about how to charge it up whilst out and about on the bike (which doesn't have a lighter socket). That unit looks like a nice compromise, and easily tucked away in the top box or tank bag. Edit: <£5 delivered on fleabay.

EF: I'm just going to cut the ciggie-lighter fitting off the power cable & replace it with a powerlet type so my exisiting power sockets can be used.

Well, tried it out on the bike. Fantastic! Way better than I'd hoped for Route uploaded using "Tyre" - and it followed my intended route exactly (bar a new piece of the A16 that isn't on TTv6 maps) giving perfect prompts over the Autocom only when required plus sounding Speed Camera locations. Has got to be the bargain of the year! Highly recommended to one and all. Just need to water proof it and get a handlebar mount. ;D

Got all the files. Do the .z01 and .z02 files need to be unzipped/unpacked, or do I leave these as they are? (I'll read the instructions again too ;D ) Used WinRAR and all seems to be OK. The maps folder is about 210MB. PS - delivery is slated for Monday. ;D

Ooooh, the excrement.....sorry, erm, excitement. ;D
Yes, I scratched my head a couple of times over that and experimented....then realised.
Windows' own unZip utility had problems sorting the archive out, but it was indeed WinRAR that worked for me.
Honestly, you sound like a kid with(out) a new toy ;D ;D ;D

Mine is now bike-powered & mounted on a RAM mount . Still a fair-weather SATNAV for now though - I'm not sure how to waterproof it .

I unbolted the ball fitting from the back of my Garmin mount. It's a flat base (diamond shaped) with two mounting holes for screws / bolts. Currently secured to the mount that came with the Navigo with cable ties, but the holes line up sufficent to use two bolts. I'd post a pic, but can't find my blue-tooth dongle :-(.
