Have you given up on the Quest Martin ? Dave ;D Ps Did you get my e-mail re Quest (AOL) ? I haven't given up. I've had the Quest apart & found that the weak spot with the sat acquisition is a small brass 'tang' thingy which contacts the aerial bit with the main unit by virtue of spring tension when the two halves of the case are screwed together. I've bent this out a little, & now sat recognistion is more reliable, but I think I need to do it again, a bit more forcefully. But I've enjoyed playing with the Navigo which I have to say acquires much more readily, even indoors! With TT loaded, it's also easier to use with full postcode searches. RE your email - which I've just read! - Firstly, please choose a bigger font 'cos my eyes are not getting any younger! Secondly - I don't ever use sound on it so I don't know if mine works. Thirdly, you're welcome to borrow the Quest & any bits I ain't 'robbed' for the Navigo mount.

***Useful Hint***If you haven't tried using it on the TomTom, try...... Main Menu > Change Preferences > Safety Preferences > Enable Safety LockI had mine set to "Turn off map display" Above certain speed which I set at 31mph. When travelling around town the full map & details are shown. Once above the set speed, the display changes to show the next turning point with the relevent info including distance to go etc. All the usual information that is displayed below the map remains.....and speed camera indications pop up as usual - but the unit becomes much less distracting.

Thank you Dahdit for the heads up about this SatNav. I got one (before the price rise ;D), for my wife as a present for when she passes her driving test. Her sense of direction is akin to that of a drunk lemming and she might as well have been driven round everywhere wearing a blindfold for all the clue she has about where she is going. (which she will readily admit in case you think I am maligning the love of my life) I couldn't afford one of the more well known brands of SatNavs so this has been a godsend for her (and me) Otherwise I was anticipating frantic calls from her after having found herself in the middle of nowhere totally lost.

No probs at all. I was in the same boat regards not being able to justify the price for what "other well known makes" go for. Apparently the original rapidshare file link has gone - did you manage to get TTv6 for it? If not.....PM me and we'll sort something out.... It is worth Enabling the Safety Lock to avoid distractions, especially for a newer driver. I've got mine set for 25mph now.....
