Hi Guys,
I am trying to arrange a days ride out for sometime in August. Although it says Welsh Divi, anyone wishing to attend is more than welcome.
Those willing to take part could they add their name?
Cheers
Steve.
Date: Sunday 5th August???

Sounds a great idea . Any idea where we'll congregate for the start? At what time? (So I know if I can make it.)

I am trying to accommodate everyone, so was thinking of meeting at about 9.30 - 10. Abergavenny for a meeting place, so that it would be a catchment for South Wales, Hereford, Forest of Dean area? Ride out through mid Wales (Elan valley)?
I am open to ideas.
Cheers
Steve

Sounds good to me. Sunday 5th is currently good for me so I'll check next week and book it off from work so I can definitely do it.
Count me (and probably my pillion Mrs) in!

If you're planning a ride round the Elan Valley, why not use Crossgates as a start/meet point? Easy for all to get to, loads of parking, breakfast for anyone who wants it, then you can go north to Newtown and make your way back round to Rhayader via Llangurig and round the dams. Depends how far anyone wants to go, but there are a multitude of options from there. I can't commit right now, because we're a 24/7 company and I never know what's going to happen from day to day, but I would love to join in on this one, work permitting. I just missed out on meeting some of you last time round the dams, so it would be good to put faces to names. I think. ;D

For me...Abergavenny is a better meeting point as I can get there in an hour....it's 2 hours ride for me to get to Crossgates. Don't mind heading north from Aber to head up that way for the northerner's!
Obviously majority will rule and if it's better for most people to meet up at Crossgates, then that's cool, just thought I'd stick my 2p in!

Hi everyone, As it is the first time I have tried to organise anything like this, I have decided to go along with the following:
Meet at Abergavenny Bus Station 10.30 (allows for those travelling a bit further to get there).
Travel to Crossgates (Powys) we can have refreshments & toilet breaks, fuel, etc; Anyone wishing to join us here, are very welcome.
Onto Rhayader, Elan valley.
From there to Builth Wells, Brecon via Upper Chapel.
Then back to Abergavenny.
Approx: 108 miles.
This is only a shortish run, but good for us newbies to get to know folks on the forum. Hope everyone is happy with this.
Regards
Steve

Thanks for your interest.
If the numbers are low, you can always bring along a friend :-)

There is a good B&B about 5 mins from the bus station. It's a farm house with excellent food.
I will pm you the details.

A route I am very familiar with, and thoroughly approve of ;D. I am assuming that you are coming out of Builth on A483 and turning left in Garth to get to Upper Chapel? (if not you should consider that, there is an absolutely fantastic viewpoint just up that road on Epynt, well worth a short break for ) I am really hoping to be on this, but I would probably join you at Crossgates, then peel off somewhere near Brecon at the end and make my way home from there. I won't be able to confirm until much nearer the time though (although it is on the calendar as a priority appointment

This is classic bad timing.
I will be staying about 3 miles from Abergavenny that weekend, but bikeless.

You must have been in Sainsbury's in Macclesfield the other day. I was in the drinks aisle, and I heard a man in the sweets and crisps aisle shout "Jesus will you put those back on the shelf! I won't tell you again."
