Are you talking to me Ribbit or Lord Prorector? I have never had an harley, wouldn't say no to one, anyone offering :-) Sorry, senior moment there Yes, I was referring to Neil's comment and pic. (and trust me, you're better off sticking with the D9 than a harley - I rode virtually the whole range whilst at RE, and I wouldn't buy one - so I bought the Victory instead ;D) I have heard lots of stories like that, but I would take one but I wouldn't buy one :-)

About 5 years ago Mrs Mud got it for my 50th birthday.
As for not getting an HD if I only could have 1 bike & the choice was D900 or HD the Yam would win hands down.
I was thinking at the time that I might change & tried the 1600 Kawasaki as well & again if it was a case of one bike then it would have been the Kwacker. Smoother. shaftie, water cooled more comfortable & considerably cheaper than the equivalent HD.
As a second bike something for gentle cruising on nice days & posing about the HD wins hands down.
But as I could only have one bike I got a 1000 Fazer instead.

In that very same lay-by (but doing the route the other way), we pulled in one day with about 15 bikes but the Porsche Club had got there before us and taken up most of the room, so we had to squeeze in the end bit. I was one of the last ones in, riding a Road King, with a very nice lady (farmer's wife) on pillion, and as I pulled up and put left foot down I discovered there was fresh air underneath it because I hadn't spotted the sunken drain, and the bike toppled very slowly over on to the grass. Fair play to her, she laughed it off and executed a very tidy barrel roll when she left the bike. I, however, never lived it down

Yes I'll have some of this. Stick me down then. Last time I was in Abergavenny I grabbed a burger from that van in the bus station. I had backpacked from Chepstow and crossed The Black Mountains en route.

There's just an outside chance that I might show up unexpectedly !
It all depends on a plan coming together (risky) so don't hold your breath or wait for me

Will have to pull out of this run. Too many family things going on and Dad is needed elsewhere! Shame I fancied a gallop around Wales. Perhaps later in the year Have a great time lads.

My missus thinks it might be rather imposing on the good nature of our hostess to invite a gang of mad bikers to the cottage - but it'd seem a shame to miss the opportunity to look in at the meet up and put some faces to names.

Hi Lads, sort of been here before but: My buddy with the slit throught! (the surgeon did it) is recovering very quickly and would like to join us on his triumph. I'll bring him along if that's ok with you guys. The poor guy has total kidney failure and does dyalisis three times a week to keep going. He never moans about it but sure could do with a good ride out. I know there won't be any objectinos to the man but if the machine is a problem let me know.

Sympathy here - I'm heading that way myself (ADPKD - dialysis or kidney replacement within 5-10 years according to nephrologist). This is Steve's run, so it's his call, but from my point of view, even though it's been labelled the Welsh Divvy ride out (considering Showaddy's comment about mad bikers it seems appropriate ;D), we are really just a bunch of like minded folk enjoying a day out on 2 wheels and it shouldn't really matter what particular brand of steed you are on. As long as it's not a bag of italian spanners dookattie, cos as we know thay are all ridden by head down asre up weekend power rangers with a death wish. Not that I want to generalise of course

I know there won't be any objectinos to the man but if the machine is a problem let me know. Jeez if you had to have a Divi to attend a Divi run some would be pretty lonely runs if they went on at all. Just try to get runsters to use the site & join in the fun & hilarity serious & intellectual conversations to be had here ;D At least six who have signed up are very unlikely to turn up on Divis & some of them are the more senior members of this site Neil

Hey Fisjon, I said it was ok for him to attend in a previous post, so it would be very unkind not to allow him on this run.
It will give the guy a boost, we like to think. Triumph, well we could say it was Triumphant (sorry) for surviving the surgeons knife.
We will welcome him and try to convert him to a Yam at least ;D

I will keep an eye on the number of non yams On the last Yorkshire run we had 30 bikes of which 3 were Divvy's ;D Ironically one of those was with the Vintage British Bike Club who were also having a run out from Beverley that morning

Looks like it will be just me from here (on my Divvy ;D, I'll leave the spaceship in the garage)) - my neighbour who was thinking of coming had his shifts changed so he will be working. Looks like we'll have a decent turnout anyway . Just got to arrange some non-Welsh weather now

I had my 1st ride yesterday after nearly 3 weeks off the bike due to a rather nasty ladder malfunction at work. Just a quick bimble to Barry Island, but it was great to be back on the bike! Neck is a bit stiff, but going to try and up my stamina this week to be ready for Sunday. So hopefully I will be there! (On a Divvy!) Andy

Thanks for the suport chaps! I'm sure that Martin will appreciate his welcome. Sorry to hear you're suffering from the same problems ribbit.
A ladder malfunction! hum! I went to fix leak on my daughter's conservatory a couple of days ago and found a shiny folding aluminium ladder in the garden. I opened it up, leaned it against the con and climbed up, just as I got eye level with the roof there was a clatter as the ladder folded up on me. My arse is still sore! A quick investigation showed that I had the thing upsidown. Dull bastard! ;D
