Fitted new braided brake lines, Xmas present. Refitted the serviced brake calippers. Touched up the rear calipper after giving it a service. Nearly ready to take it for an MOT and then it will be ready to use again.

Checked out my back brake caliper. It's all working fine so no worries about rebuilds (not yet anyway).

With fuel tank removed, and engine running, found the source of one really annoying vibration. Twas the fairing fastener under the LHS dash surround........really annoying but now fixed.
Now to wash, polish, and sell.

Will be a shame to see it go though. All good things must come to an end. The strength of these D9's is an ability to cover long distances in relative comfort. Buyer will get a good deal. Lots of extras go with this beauty. Sorry to say goodbye

It's all about discovering the buyers motives........the emotional reason for buying. That's what the the last sales course I did taught me anyway.....American sales courses ;D

First run of the year. Took it (Can 'Green Hell' be a her?) for a run around Crieff and Lochearnhead. Ground down the ends of my boots if not the footpegs. Woo-hoo, only a cm of chicken-strip left. They go alright for big old barges, don't they? Happy new year!

After having owned my 900 for coming up to 5 years. I removed and threw away the bracket under the seat, that was used to retain the lock that was supplied as standard from new, that i never had. Now much lighter and faster.

Put two new tyres on and put my bike away in it's garage for the rest of the winter. Been a while since I had new rubber on, and the 36/42 psi was stuck in my head. The guy in the garage didn't believe me - so I'll have to pump the rear up before I take the bike out for a scrubbing run..

Oh and i found those pesky swing arm covers. good skills Deeps - your bike is not looking to bad....for a green one looking forward to a run out soon... ;D I realized that the front mirrors that the bike shop replaced for free on my red D9 are carp. The old ones were spinning around like devil mirrors any speed over 50mph. But their replacement new ones are poor cheap imitations of the real things so thought about swapping the real ones from my blue D9 one with the pretend ones on my red D9 ......then realized I am up at 4am again tomoz so did nothing but think ;D....Zzzzzzz

Stop loafing,(naval slang) whip the mirrors off the blue one, go to work, when you have a break, swap them for the ones on the red one. Or are you so busy you never get a break. Mate from the rugby club picks his D9 up at the weekend.

Too busy bombing up the motorway Deeps and seeing Christhedivvys flashy bright WHITE headlight winging by on the other side! Yes 'tis I at silly oclock (5:30am) over Sheffield M1 way - though it was mucky this morning caught half a glance and had my arm up as we passed I think...I will try to wave tomorrow morning. Looking forward to seeing your revamped bike soon Dave. On a "what did I do to my D9 today" note, I popped back in to 2wheel center and mentioned that my right mirror is a zoomed in type lens (like a ladies compac) that brings everyone 50% closer and the left is normal. Too disconcerting to use them as a mixed pair. They only fitted them tuesday as a replacement to the crackered spinning lose ones. They rang their supplier up who checked if they could supply a matching normal pair only to be told they had 50 pairs ALL LIKE THAT - Oops! The suppliers are going back to the manufacturers for replacements... 2wheel center are trying to source me a normal pair. Given that Mr Yamaha wants about £60 EACH for the mirrors don't think they will stretch to those I hold my breath and wait as these are free replacements as the bike has a 3 month warranty.... PS - NOTE OF WARNING - if you buy mirrors for the D9 from WEMOTO I have been told they use the same suppliers so before you buy, CHECK they are a matching normal lens pair, as there will be a few of those dodgy ones floating about for some time to come me thinks...
