Hello all, I recently bought a 2000 model XJ600 Diversion which I am mainly using for commuting currently. I last owned a bike about ten years ago (another Divvy) but am slowly getting the bug back for bikes beyond just commuting. I'm probably going to be mainly asking questions about mechanical stuff, although I do have a slightly mad plan to take the bike down to the south of France next spring to visit the in-laws.

Hello there, and welcome.
It is a little quiet on here, but knowledgeable folk still look in from time to time so feel free to ask questions. I have a 900 Divvy so questions about the 600 wasted on me. What's mad about that plan. I would say go for it, but rather than try to get there in one hit, enjoy the ride, avoid big towns and cities (traffic). What is your location btw? Best regards.

Welcome π I've had a D6 for 16 years.... However I'm not technically minded lol Great bikes, just keep changing the oil and filters regularly (i do an oil change every 3k miles). Every time I think about another bike I realise that the D6 does everything I need π Adbru

Hi My user name is sedg I live in Newcastle Craven Arms (shropshire) right on the Welsh border. Today I have become the owner of a 1997 XJ600N with 25000 miles on it. I presume that thexj is a poor mans diversion. I did have a Honda CB500 (1999) but was reversed over by a tractor and trailer, i servived but the Honda did not. I am a fair weather rider so the bike will be sorn till march. I lost my Honda in September and have been looking at ebay @ auto trader for a similar machine. The xj is in great condition and I hope to do some milage once3 the milder weather kicks in.
Might post a picture if a can work out how to. Regards Sedg

Welcome to the club Sedj. I quite often pass through Craven Arms in all 4 directions when I'm out on the bike (obviously not at the same time ). Dave.

Welcome sedj, The 600n is simply the naked version of the 600 Diversion. Plenty of infoβ on it here, when/if things need attending too; diversionclub.proboards.com/board/1/600Hopefully the fair weather you yearn for isnβt too far away!

Hello, my first name is Eric, I live in France near Grenoble in the Alps mountains. I presently own a 900 Divvy with a Side Bike Kyrnos sidecar , during the last 3 decades I owned one FJ1200+sidecar, one XJ900 solo, one same sidecar as now, one solo 900 Divvy, one 1000 Gold Wing, one 660 SZR. Alongside the 900 divvy+sidecar there is also a Seven Fifty Honda given by a friend of mine that I restored 2 years ago. I am nowdays retired from electronic industry (since 2 years) and my passions are numerous: Mountain, bike, motorbike solo and sidecar, electronic DIY... I just started that week to swap the engine of the sidecar, not so obvious task it seems I will surely need some advices, I will be rather buzzy this winter! "VoilΓ " Sorry if my english is not so fluent. Eric. Attachments:

Hub Centre steering by any chance? More pictures of the front end would be interesting. And the cans are repositioned. Was that you?

I gentlemen, thanks for your welcoming I bought it in that shape 6 years ago, the former owner gave it this look (I think he rebuild it after a crash), As far as I understood it is not allowed to send too many images on this forum, but to answer your request I will try to send another ones as mentionned Eric.

Hi yu al and welcome. Nice to see new members with Diversions. I had an XJ600s and a 900S Diversion but not necessarily in that order. I found the shaft drive 900s, too heavy after dropping her on the grass outback of where I lived/but a lovely machine once on the go,the chain drive 600 was like a smaller more nimble version, however I lost interest after she was nicked and dumped un ceromoniosly, also I was due to joining the lads and lasses on here, for as rideout from Nuneaton so sold it on first. I used a newly aquired Cagiva Raptor, which replaced an Aprilia Futura, written off, as was nearly I ,and the only bike 'off# which resulted in my being a patient in Hospital Not simply patched up, 3Days. Sadly I experienced another off on that Saturday bimble, got the bike fixed thanks to Oatie etc, but layed myself up in the Premier Inn Sundat too bruised to do the actual rideout. Monday set off to go up to Liverpool, then got the overnight Ferry from Birkenhead to Belfast for the NW 200 staying in Porthrush. The next stage was a bucket listplan to go and glamp near Loch Ness, and join the good folk on here at Inverness for the NC500.
However I did visit the causeway hospital, Colerain on a race free day,and was advised to see my own GP the next week. So came home after the races. I still have my 2 Two Stroke Aprilia 125s, that one was the aim to use on a rideout from Cockermouth, Cumbria to Scarborough , Yorkshire for a fabled Tiddler run but never managed it.
I only had but one run on my Cagiva Nexus Maxi Scooter, last year too. So as a lover of speed got myself a cute little Beemer Mini Cooper S Rag Top, that is a more than adequate substitute for a fast bike, and doesn't necessitate struggling into protective clothing. loveing it.
Unfortunately I have more or less due to health, not being expected to see XMas 2021, (let alone my 70th, however I have now made it to 71)issues hung up my helmet, but do still like to drop in hear for a catchup.
