Greetings one and all. Nick in Newburgh, 10 miles north of Aberdeen, Scotland. Just bought a 900 Divvy as a project/doer upper/ mile muncher so will no doubt be dipping in and out to soak up some of the assembled knowledge. My other ride is a GSX 1400, very different of course, but like to have another ride for contrast and trying not to pile on the milage too much so bought the Divvy for my shenanigans over the summer, etc. Owned a 900 Divvy few years ago and it was a dream to work on, started, stopped and did what it said on the tin, as well as being extremely comfortable on long journeys (did a few 800 mile+ weekends on it) so when the opportunity came to grab a low milage (23k) example for a decent price, it was a no-brainer. The bike has experienced some good and bad in its life, as a result I have some work to do, but am looking forward to it. Ex-bikes...too many to mention (I'm no spring chicken) but probably tried most types/manufacturers except 'custom/cruiser' style (never fancied one tbh) Look forward to chatting over the next few months.... Nickygee

Hi & welcome Nick. Hope the D9 project goes well. Has it been neglected then? Such a low mileage bike you would think nothing needs doing. keep in touch & atb.

Hello everyone. Jon from sunny Lincolnshire. Previous D900 and pre Diversion 900F owner. Seriously considering getting another Diversion to step away from modern bikes. Digging into the forum to see what the current owners say about the bike in today’s world.

Hi appyday and welcome. I have had mine about 18 months and every time I am about to go out on it aswell as when I am riding, it just gives me joy. For me it is plenty quick enough, an easy riding machine, plenty of torque, comfortable and a low seat height. 200 miles between refills is great too ! Coming from more modern bikes, you just have to adjust your head to the fact the brakes are less efficient but they are more than adequate once you embrace the change. I recently advertised some Givi Trekker panniers pictured on mine - haven't sold them but did have an enquiry for the bike

Welcome appyday. I have had 4 over the last 30 years and find the divi a bike that provides just the sort of ride that I prefer. Tours well, can do quick but we enjoy being able to go distances between refills and seems to survive whatever/wherever we go. Have done tours of Morocco, Tunisia, Corsica, Sardinia, Spain, Portugal, northern Italy and most of France. Two up with baggage is not a problem, no having to lube' a chain, so what is not to like. Gets a recommendation from us(me and Wifey).

I echo what everyone has said. And for some reason they are still cheap. The only down side is the weight - once you get to a certain age. Just get one - you know it makes sense. ATB
Welcome to Chupo too. Good choice of bike.

Hi all. I am looking at buying a 600 reliable transport and narrowed it down to Yamaha diversion or “n”. Selling my Transalps to fund one. I live in York and ride year round to work so do 10 to 20 thousand yearly. What goes wrong with 600! What should I look out for. Want simple easy to repair and maintain. Thanks. Tony

Hello Tony. I cannot comment on the 600, but have had several 900s over the years. They have always been reliable and being shaft drive, reduces the maintainance. Mine have been both a transport to work as well as long tours. Loads of continental travel and north africa. Whichever you choose, use this site for advice; loads of info available. Cheers, Mike

The 600 is a reliable commuter bike, smooth linear power and very economical.
Minor issues can be easily sorted, like clutch rattle and the occasional electrical issue due to age, but over all, a very good lightweight machine giving 60 + MPG

Hi. I live in Royal Wootton Basset England, 66 years old, have had a lifelong passion for anything interesting, currently building a six cylinder 600 Diversion engine to end up with an unusual well handling nippy bike, my daily ride is an 1100 Virago and rebuilding a 1982 750 Virago that was caught in our garage fire about 4 years ago, this has had an 1100 engine put in it/
