Evening all, Im Kyran 29 I live in Sevenoaks area of Kent, im normally a Honda man im currently without a daily rider i have a 1987 vfr400 nc24 and a 1979 cb400n hardtail chop project that im currently working on. today ive been working on my old mans 2000 XJ600N for him which he hasnt used in 2 years as it was to heavy for him so he rides his 400 bandit instead. been working on it today removing stuck front brake disc bolts and he has offered me the bike to have if i do the work on it. i jumped at the chance as i need a work horse and something swmbo will get on the back off (the vtr1000f firestorm wasnt comfortable). so far i know it needs new discs on the front, front and rear wheel bearings and a sprocket carrier bearing. The bike itself hasnt had the best care and needs a proper clean but it does have Jama exhausts and sounds really nice and even on old stale fuel and a weak battery it started today and ran i was impressed. Kyran Divvys are just hard to kill. Welcome to the forum.

Hi , I'm Jeff , live near Exeter in deepest sunny Devon , just bought a 900 Diversion 99t burgundy in hue , rode 15 miles & am quite impressed , needs 2 tyres fairly soon ( Bridgestone Battlax ) front has gone uneven & rear just on its bar marks centreline . Any ideas to which tyres suit it the best please & it has a rev counter fault ( spins from 4K to 8k and then turns itself off in a constant cycle ) previous owner said it needed hooking up to some diagnostics to reset ? P.s I hope I've posted this ok , newbie strikes again ....

Hello people, My name is Adrian, live in Rugby, own & ride a tiger 955, bandit 1200 & FJ 1200. A few more relics down the shed also. My other half, leatherbabe, is a member so I have been lurking for far too long. I have been on a few runs, WWW, soggy's run thru cheddar gorge, the last derby run by uncle fester, even a JJ. Would have liked to have been on this years JR, stopped by a broken ankle. As chief fettler for Otis, SWMBO-owned D6, I have used the mine of technical info on here several times, and am at a stage where i need to ask some stupid questions, which i know you all love, so i look forward to reading your varied & witty replies

Hello All I'm Col and I live in Liverpool, I bought my 98 Divvy last month after 5 years commuting every workday to Manchester on an extremely reliable 92 CB750F2N which is still going but now retired! Lol, First impression of the Divvy was, what a Dinosaur, mainly due to its weight but now I'm used to it...Fantastic bike Looking forward to reading all the hints and tips of Divvy owning.

Hi Adrian. Welcome to the site. Oh and thanks for your directions to the B**** road Fosse Way from the airfield on triple w run. We found it easily thanks to you - and it was fantastic. Also welcome to Col. The D9 is a lump - especially in and out of shed/garage, but once on the move, as you have found out is very good.

the cb750 was my other choice when i was looking for a new bike.... i do like the cb's, but the easier maintenance and fairing finally swung me towards the xj... had a pre diversion xj before as well as an old cb750, and preferred the old cb over the old xj, but the diversion is just a bit easier and more comfortable to live with.... also big and heavy enough that i don't try to throw it around too much so less likely to fling it down the road....

Hello Im Patrick, I have owned a 97 xj900 for just over a year. I bough this bike for a road trip I decided to do at the start of 2015 and went on the trip in August 15, took the bike all the way around Norway and Sweden wild camping and covered about 4000 miles maybe more in about a month, the bike didnt miss a beat I cant fault it, apart from an old BMW I saw I think mine was the oldest bike everywhere we went I will be posting some questions on the forum when I get to grips with the threads, I have a few questions about Panniers & Fuel gauge Senders.

Welcome Patrick. These are definitely reliable work buses. I use mine every day and so far my only let down has been a puncture. One of the members is on his third 100,000 miler. Re the fuel senders. There is a fix on here if it's not too far gone. Failing that it's a new one at £109.

Howdo. On my third XJ9 but the latest one has languished in the garage for four years while I was ill...and at some point I tried to *ahem* customise it with some tins of paint. Between that and the neglect it's in a sorry state. Spent the last couple of months attempting to encourage the calipers to do a proper job again - then the exhaust fell off as the rust gave up the ghost. After messing with DIY bits to bring it back to life I've thrown in the towel and bought a Black Widow 4-1 system tonight. With any luck I can get a ticket on it before the week is out then set about putting the thing back to original spec. There's only 28K on the clock, it'd have been a crying shame to let it go the way of the breakers.

Hey, I'm picking up my XJ900 at the weekend after lurking around here for a while. Had an SV650 a few years back but nothing since and hoping to do a few days out/short tours two up.
Thanks in advance for enduring my numerous stupid questions.

Hi vanilla and bigfootisblurry and welcome to the madhouse. Loads of good advice and tips on here but do try and meet up with some of the "inmates" on some excursion somewhere if you can. Good to see you both have exceptionally good taste with acquiring D9's but also one of you having had an SV. Loved my SV650S K1 but in the end I got lazy (riding position) and sold it on but what a cracking bike it was. Still got the D6, green of course

Hi, I'm Gordon from Wemyss Bay (just outside Greenock on the Clyde coast) I'm a born again biker having taken a break since 1981 till last year when I bought a 250 Ninja to ease myself back in. I upgraded to a 600 Divvy earlier this year and am loving it. My longest trip to date has been 900 miles over 4 days and she never missed a beat.

Glad to hear you're back on 2 wheels again and using your 600 Divvy as it should be. Sounds a nice one. Drop us a piccy if you can; we're always interested to see the steeds. PS Some will chalk this up as you're north of the border but we won't hold it against you

So pleased to have found a divvy forum! I'm Charis, hail from SW Scotland (D&G) and the main 2-wheeled vehicle of choice is my 2001 xj600n Not long since got her home from the shop, having been stripped and tidied up, and now she's running like poop! Will be searching through the forum for answers or otherwise hoping some of you might know what her problem is! Look forward to chatting to you

Start a separate thread, explaining in what sense she's running like poop & we can have a go telling you what the prob might be. We might even be right !
