They probably like the fact you think it's sunny in Staffs - everyone likes an optimist. Me, I'm upsetting the neighbours by building an arc in the garden.

Hi my name is Duncan, im from Carlisle in Cumbria which is about 10 miles from the scottish border where i came from 22 years ago. I passed my test in 1976, when it was a doddle in comparison now. Think i would fail if i had to do it today, i started my career with a little honda PF 50, then a Honda 125J, CD 175, yamaha 650 limited with a side car, Cb 750 K7. Then i went off the bikes for 25 years, wanted to get another for years, just got roun to it last year, started off with a 600 divvi, now got a 900 and enjoying every minute of it although its a bit lonely on my own, found this site hoping to meet some new biker mates so here i am.... Welcome Duncan..
There's quite a few of us within quite easy reach of Carlisle - I'm only about an hour or so North (Strathaven), and there are some in the Lakes area.

Hi Matt, Welcome to YDC. A youngster, (if your profile is to be believed ;D). A D6 seems a great bike to get hold of for a first bike. If it's a yellow one, you'll have the IOW Hobbit breaking out in a sweat .

Neil, would you prefer i change my handle? Don't encourage him - I reckon he just fears you might be the hitherto unknown product of his overactive loins & fears all that child suport he's overdue . Having met him, I suspect it's only his overactive imagination..... .

Yes she is a Seca II but she is black. I like that yellow though!
Profile is to be believed, i am a youngster.
The D6 is treating me very well for a starter bike. It has plenty of power and is incredibly light and nimble. I am so glad i didnt go straight for the Buell (m1, m2, x1)... *drools*
It was freaking goofy the first time i took it on the high-way. I am not used to churning 5-6k rpms at cruising speed. (i am way to used to my 5 spd standards.... lol) I quickly realized that this was designed like this for a reason, power-band. (those crazy Japanese engineers know what the hell they are doing!)
I guess a little extra about me. I am a structural drafter at PCS Structural Solutions. I have been here a little over a year and love it. I am heavy into music, i believe it to be the ultimate drug. (I play bass, guitar and am looking into drums. I listen to about everything besides "(c)rap." Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Lead Belly, Alice in chains... From Mozart to Megadeth. Other interests? Burning Petrol, The outdoors, Fabrication, Camping, Fishing, Mechanics, Lego Technic. (anyone familiar w/ nicjasno.com?)
I consider myself to be laid back and easy going. I can be sarcastic as all hell.
Other vehicles: 1994 Mustang GT Convertible, 302 c.i. 8-cyl, 5-spd, posi.... muhahaha (The Black Widow) 1988 Toyota 4runner, 2.4L, 5-spd, 4wd (Mudd) 1986 (2) Feet, (2) Legs

GREETINGS ONE AND ALL Allow me to introduce myself the name is John and I'm from the Wirral (sunny New Brighton to be exact do you remember your Mum and Dad bringing you here for the day out ? No ahh well) Anyways I'm back after a bikeless "HOW MANY" 35 years and took/passed my DAS earlier this month. I have just picked up a XJ600N in beautiful black on a "W" and as soon as I feel confident enough I hope to join you strange lot on some runs..CHEERS

Welcome John I'm in Prenton, and there used to be a couple of others on the Wirral but I'm not sure if they still frequent the boards Don't let this strange lot put you off - they're (mostly) harmless. The site is a treasure trove of useful information - mostly biking but plenty of other stuff too. If you've got a Divvy related question, the answer will be here somewhere. If you've just passed your DAS the secret is to get out and cover as many miles as possible. Practice makes better, and the more you practice the more 'at home' you'll feel on a bike. Just take care out there and remember "all other road users are out to get you" See ya sometime
Roger

Hi to all the forum members. Im a hopefully soon to be Divvy 900 owner as I have been without a bike for 5 years. I have changed work location and need to commute 36 miles to work now and as I own a huge chelsea tractor (It gets used - kids, campng etc) I can't afford to run her that often.
I have spent weeks thinking what to buy and narrowed it down to either a BMW F650 or a Divvy.
Checked out the BMW and the seat and wheels look horrid but the Divvy's seems very comfy and also suprise me on their mpg figures.
Hope to get one within next 7 days ready for the Stoke Pet Food run.
I live in Longton.
As for past bikes? NSR125 RD350LC Virago 535 GPX750RR GS550 Yamaha XS750.

Hi everyone.
I'm Nikki and live in Herefordshire. Finally, after many years of wanting to learn to ride I took a DAS course last year with a friend and passed. Had already bought a gorgeous blue XJ 600S (97) and couldn't wait to get out on her. Haven't been out on her as much as I'd like though due to family illness back in Ireland and still consider myself very much a novice biker. That said, love riding her and gaining experience each time I go out. My hubbie has a GTS 1000 .
Would love to go on the ride out on 21st but unfortunately dropping my eldest off to derby for his 1st year at uni. Another time maybe!

Hi Nikki and a very warm welcome to the site. A fountain of knowledge and friendship awaits you so look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you one day. I have a green Divvy 6 and they are great aren't they. Hope all is better with the family illness situation now.
