I bow to your superior experience Beebs, but I'm not on the pull. If I was I'd be wearing an outrageous shirt instead of sitting in my shorts and vest.

Hello, I just discovered your forum, and am excited to be here! I'm Eric Weber, from Phoenix, Arizona USA. I ride a '97 Yamaha Seca II (Diversion in europe). Mine was wrecked by the previous owner, so I installed an Acerbis Blitz headlight and a Napoleon barend mirror. Have since replaced the grab handles (not shown in picture). Still needs plenty of cosmetic work on the other side (big dent in tank). These bikes weren't too popular in the USA, and were only offered until 1998. Too bad, it's a really fun ride, and easier to work on than my old ducati m750 monster. Anyhow, I look forward to reading all the resources on this website. Here's a pic of my bike:

Welcome aboard Eric, nice looking bike, but that Acerbis headlight would look a lot better in red I do like that bellypan though As you say, they're a real fun ride, and all the better in your climate I would imagine. trev

Looks cool with the black motor. I've used very similar looking mirrors on my 900 (sometimes called "Stadium" style in uk). I have them turned over 180 degs so they sit above the hand grip. Only snag is a poor field of view. They dont have much convexity.

Hi All My name is Ian and I have just returned to riding bikes after about 20 years. Bought a 1998 XJ600s Diversion. It is a great bike and ideal for the Journy to Work which is the main reason for getting it..
I live in East Sussex

I suppose i'd better jump in an introduce myself. I'm Kris from sunny Mirfield in West Yorkshire.
Not got my licence yet but DAS is booked for 28th July and i've a nice black and shiny XJ600N parked in my mother in laws garage just waiting to be ridden.
It kills me seeing it everyday knowing I can only run it up the road outside (it's a private road, officer) but only a couple more weeks to wait and hopefully i shall be out and about.

Welcome Ian. Lance and Kris. Ian - I unfortunatley live in Slough, but am from East sussex (born in st'Leonards, lived in Hastings). Lance - Hants is (mostly) a nice place - just steer clear of pompey Kris - Good luck with the DAS - I had a black 600n - best looking divvy of the lot (and sounds nice if you drill 8 holes in the end of each silencer)

Yes I was the only SV on the day. DahDit put me onto the SV650 along with other 'novice/women friendly bikes' when I started to learn to ride. After much research I the SV came out best 'on paper'. Can't compare it with any other bike to ride as this is my first one but I'm loving owning and riding it!! Fully recommended
