I did wave at Flymo (I think) who was marking at the Total station in Hungerford, and Neil on the mini-roundabout, as we went through in the other direction. Hope you guys didn't have to wait too long for the broken-down Ural. How very dare you! 'Twas me, Flymo indeed you myopic old fool! Could have pulled over and had a chat to relieve me from the misery of sitting there for 50 minutes in the pouring rain. If I was a paranoid type I would probably start to think there is a conspiracy on divvy runs to see who can leave me marking a junction for the longest time That aside and back ot, thanks to all attendees or an enjoyable weekend. After a somewhat long ride down to chez Martin's on Saturday, don't ask , was nice to be greeted by a bunch of alcohol starved pre runsters keen to get to the pub. Quick change and a warm brew and we headed off for the alcohol hit, great evening in good company and in bed by 1.00 am. Up early to a decidely icy morning and after numerous brews off we went on the run. Couple of mini slides but not as bad as it looked, a fantastic mix of rural, country roads that with all the previous weeks rain had you concentrating full time. Certainly honed the roadcraft skills after a long lay off. Weather mostly held off, had maybe a couple of hours of rain but thankfully the high winds and torrential rain stayed away till night. The Ural performed faultlessly up till it's hiccup, was great to see it out and about Ian. Roger described you as a bottom burping Cumbrian, from what I witnessed about the only sound likely to eminate from those tightly clenched buttocks whilst being towed was gonna be a high pitched squeak! Arrived home about 2.00 pm today after a bright sunny , direct, cross country ride , after leaving Martin and Ian awaiting the Ural's pick up. Thanks again to all the adventurers and a very special thankyou to mine host/hostess fro their faultless hospitality over the weekend. See you all, and more, soon I hope. Edit, forgot to mention the mileage for the weekend, 497* , not bad for a Winter run! * may or may not have been all going in the right direction

Please accept my humble apologies, Trev. Mine too, Bob, for not hanging about at the start . I reasoned that by 10:20 - ish all who were coming would have been there - if only to get a warming brew before the off. (I reckoned without your hardy Northern DNA !)

Please accept my humble apologies, Trev. Aporogies accepted. In your defence I was aboard a battered ol' D6 so could easily have been mistaken for a Flymo* I suppose *new toy excluded.

More like my softy southern fear of ice - and a weak bladder. It was a bit nippy, first-thing: Roads were pretty good though - no dramas, though a bit moist come afternoon .

Despite the breakdown I had an excellent weekend, a real adventure, many thanks to our hosts, Martin and Christine, who fed and thrust many alcoholic drinks upon me, to Roger for his excellent towing, and to all the guys who made it such an adventure!
