Drained the tank, found the filter nice & clean, no blockages: Though the rinse-out DID suggest it wasn't before time for a clean-out: . Will take it out for a road test, but TBH I still suspect an electrical problem

There is a pattern forming here, XS1100 MOT'd then killed, Fazer 600 bought back, then killed...VT500 bought, and although terminally ill was finally killed.... Lucky that I rescued the Fazer 1000 before it was too late

Hmmm, well the Fazer 600 disappointed big-time this morning, coughing & spluttering to the point of being unrideable . So you might be right . Not much opportunity to look into it before the run, so I hope Ian brings a cushion for me to sit on so I see out & point directions . There is always the TRX Or a mint mk4 GSF600 (might take a pt ex gamble)

Have been on the phone to the local yoof holligan hot-wire member on here (AKA member 2387, full identity withheld to protect the guilty) - might be able to steal my own bike with a quick hot-wiring tip, so the TRX could be spared being put into service .

Well, not road-tested it yet but it looks like the Fazer 600 lives . Didn't need all those twocking tips from the Telford Tearaway after all - just an old clothes peg & a hammer, sorted . Also, & this may be an innovation everyone else can learn from, I can now have heated grips & satnav power, whereas before I had to choose one or the other .

This one had me wondering about the venue. Time as specified in original post . Where is altogether more vague - after I 'tested' the proposed cafe for you, the owner announced he would probably close after Christmas . But there are actually plenty of alternatives close to Wantage. (If there wasn't, wouldn't the guesswork be less ? ) Expect a definitive venue shortly .

Tomorrow I am heading to Brownhills, and an evening hosted by the Beeblemeister, then Saturday on to groovy Grove, assuming I manage that far!

So much for little activity on the site - getting on for 1000 views for a January Run? On just 2 pages and one thread? The Jocks will be jealous
