Sign up sheet for this run. If people are staying I could be persuaded to ride over some roads in Noth Gloucester Saturday afternoon for an hour or so and have a beer or two at the Thatch in the evening. The wherever in Barnwood. Run will leave from the Services on the A38 south of Gloucester probably from the McDonalds car park at 09:30. The postcode is GL2 2RQ this is a petrol station and McDonalds off the crosskeys roundabout. Note Postcode update A bonus point to the eagle eyed admin. Fuel stop at about 130 miles
A change to the finish link Looking to make it here for !7:30 this seems a better place to finish than the start if peeps want a coffee or food before heading home. It is right next to junction 13 M5 and was on route any way.I ran the route today.Total run is about 170 miles. There is a lot of mud on the roads I have made some changes where I considered it in dangerous amounts, but there is straw cutting going on at the moment and a lot can change in a week so please keep an eye on gateways
Saturday Run about 45 miles total and is more an option of a short blast with a very good pub at the endNot so much time as I would have liked to sort something a bit more complex but the road is good, scenic and fun. Start Here link At 17:30 following the road to here link (Thanks Sledgegreen) for a food n drink stop then the same route at about 19:30 back to the wheatstone/premier inn.
Anyone not wishing to stop you are in the heart of Malverns with some excellent roads to play on. The Swan is not cheap but the food is excellent. Those intending to eat Iwill leave to book for themselves (recommended)
I could do with someone Leading this as I will be holding you up on parts of this route. I will post a route map during the week in .gpx format, but it is basicly follow the road.

Depending on what's happening at work I'd be up for the Saturday run, probably not the Sunday though. I find that I can't stand much more than an hour on the bike before the legs and arse start complaining and it takes too long to recover.

Not at this point. I will post up when I have something in mind. Probably a tour of north gloucesters roundabouts and a twisty ending Malvern way and back again. I will get details up at least a week in advance to gauge whether there is interest. Likewise I will post food/drink stops on the main run and a suggestion for a Saturday night pub Barnwood side of town. I am very pushed for time at the moment.

The Wheatstone is pretty close (assuming people are staying at the Premier Inn by Sainsburys), easy walking distance. It was OK last time I was there but that was a couple of years ago so can't vouch for it now. Walking Distance from the Hotel would be the plan. On the rare ocassions I drink its not over that way so I have no idea offhand. Hotel is on the edge of an industrial estate and major artery into Gloucester so nightlife will be limited.

Just checked on Google maps and the Wheatstone is the pub next door to the Premier Inn. There's pretty much nothing else within easy walking distance although it depends on what you call easy walking distance. The Holiday Inn also has a bar and that's fairly close.
