My Rox anti vibe bar risers are well comfy to use, but have started to slip in the bar clamps. Ally clamped onto ally isnt good. So I'm trying some 3mm roll pins to stop the boogers slipping.
So without a pillar drill and vee block I've put two roll pins through each bar riser bar clamp. They sit either side of the hex headed screw bar clamp. One side has a 4mm gap. It was fiddly and always risky of one sitting higher than the other, but its worked and looks fine.
That should finally put paid to the risers slipping around in the top yoke handlebar clamps.

1) Fitted the new Wingrack, panniers / top box etc! (Thanks Iaino) 2) Practiced getting my leg over (oo-er) with the new additions (have just about mastered this without looking like a complete joke in public!!!) 3) Fitted new indicators as the old ones were too long to be compatible with the Wingrack 4) Discovered lots more wrong with the bike!!! Anyway, here’s Oscar with his new bits!

A pair of new Maxxis touring tyres now nicely scrubbed in. They seem to handle nicely but yet to see any rain.

The bike stood up and carried on as if nothing had happened. I'm sure I couldn't do a repeat performance so VERY careful with anything (leaves, mud, grit, ice, (OMG)) that looks even slightly dodgy.

Early signs that slippery days are ahead! I had a slippery moment on my D9 down the same road at exactly the same spot that I had my off on sheet ice last winter!! Doing the same maneuver that found me in 2nd gear turning a 180 on the side road just outside work. Full of wet leaves the experience switched on my "Oh no summer has gone her comes winter" sense hopefully! Shiny side up to all you winter riders!

Bike in for a full service. New fluids front and rear brakes. Valve shims checked... last check 34000ks ago..........all spot on, only one being adjusted in 107,000ks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tip....if your push button start is a bit temperamental all it needs is a bit of a clean and some lube on it for full function.

cleaned out the man cave, then decided to whip the carbs off and clean them out, to sort out the slow running jets, now it runs better now, but the carbs still need balanced!

It just needs a metre length of rubber hose and use it to listen to pop-pop of intake pulses in adjacent carb's bellmouths. Adjust the balance screw until both sound the same and they are balanced.
Its cheap, quicker than faffing with vac fittings & tubes and really not hard to do. If all else fails get a set of vac gauges.

I allready have the gauges, but want it to put a few miles on it before balancing the carbs Actually i have been asked to trial a set of digital carb balancer gauges, probably be Febuary before the prototype ones are ready though!

Fitted R&G heated grips. Happy couple of hours in the garage with Craig Charles' funk and soul show on the radio.
UPDATE (2nd Dec) These grips are great. Easily as good as Daytona or Oxford that I've had on other bikes. Get good and hot set high and keep heat on medium setting. But the best thing is the six leds perform a little light show when you turn the ignition on ;D

If you are planning to de-rust the swing arm, get it professionally stoved, because rust will soon bubble through any new paint. I mean the 200 degs C "low temperature" system not full on vitreous enamel that chips too easily. Powder coat is also better than paint but the stove is better still.

Next its the swing arm, hope to get on with it Wednesday. Any gotcha's i should be aware off before i try? Dave Careful with the hex key end on the swingarm pin. Bnggers get fast (ask Bev and Co). Make sure you get a good hex socket that fits correctly, sometimes worth having a dig around in the hex hole before inserting your tool , ooer

Removed the swing arm for repainting. Thanks to the advice from Bev and Trev, it was not to bad a job removing it. Once i had got a 27mm scoket it only took a fair bit of weight (me) to crack the nuts, the rest came away with no bother. Swing Arm from the top, showing the worst area. Top view Swing Arm as it came off the bike Underside of Swing Arm as it came off the bike
