Had my first one on Saturday. I think this serves to inform us, in case we kid ourselves otherwise, that we are “older adults” 😲.

If we're playing top trumps (not the Donald variety) I'll go with 22nd January. So about another month until the second shot for me.
Fortunately it was a sunny, dry and not-too-cold morning, as we had to queue for quite a while outside the marquee that they were using. Reminded me a bit of the time we visited Lourdes (as tourists, not pilgrims) and witnessed the depressing sight of a long line of the sick, lame and generally decrepit waiting outside the church for their turn for a miracle cure. Though this time there was an absence of stalls selling tacky souvenirs; I think someone's missing a commercial opportuntiy here - plastic Boris or a Priti picture, anyone?

I'm booked in for this Thursday, Jools had her first dose back in January. Am going to book my daughter in for when she's down because she has a learning disability. Son is 15, so he'll just have to suffer if he gets it ...

Son is 15, so he'll just have to suffer if he gets it ... The younger ones don't tend to suffer with it that much, they just spread it. Like they do with Flu, mumps, chicken pox etc. Go to school and spread it about, or if old enough go the pub (when they're open), then go home and kill granny, grandpa mum, dad and anyone else of an older generation that they can give it to.

I would have to say that, though there are some specific clinical reasons (*) for taking vitamin D supplements, most people don’t need them, having sufficient in their diets.
I would contend that taking them should be under the guidance/advice of a GP.
(*) we have such a case in our family, & then it was only for a period - such to build back up a deficit following an illness, not a long-term thing.
Like most supplements, for most folks on sensible varied diets, you are otherwise just creating expensive urine 😕.

Glad to see all you old gits are surviving. I had my first Covid vaccination 23rd Feb but being Scottish it means I'm younger than you lot. Also being Scottish we're not as stupid as you English blokes infecting each other, or so Nicoliar would have us believe. Actually she'd have us believe it's all down to her divine intervention. Struggling to ride a bike these days, yes, even more than usual. Even if i was allowed to go anywhere, another bounus of being Scottish, we aren't allowed out of our local areas until at least the 26th April. Thinking of getting a Harley or Custom for ease of mounting and dismounting. I will also look cooler than a supermarket freezer department apparently. Might be having a late mid life crisis.

Careful what you say now Bev Humza may be listening! I have honestly never heard anyone talk about intelligence and buying a Harley in the same paragraph. Life is strange. Midlife crisis, again!
Keep safe

Nice to hear from you, Dunc. Be careful with a Harley, they are not as comfortable as they look, and those vibrations wear you out after a while.
I have just bought a 2009 Hornet 600, it's quite comfy and very light, and lightning quick after my D9.
Keep well mate!

Some of us are still relatively young, although probably still a bit. Jools ended up buying a Harley due to having trouble getting her leg over. She loves the thing - the 107 cubic inch motor is epic, but if you're over about 5'8", it's just too low. I quite fancy a test ride in a couple just for fun, maybe a Fatbob 114 and the new Pan America adventure bike.

Due to short legs, 5 damaged disks and knackered hips I have a bit of trouble getting my leg over hence the view that a Harley might be the answer to get me back on the road. still have the GSX1250 but somedays I just can't get on or off comfortably. oK when i'm on usually though. The low height I'm going for, hoping that works for a bit. 61 this year maybe time to slow down and leave the lads to rush around. Just got my Grandson a 50cc so looking forward to a ride with the next generation of Bev's

Looking for something to bimble about on that doesn't kill me to get on and off.
been told the back damage is not fixable and I just have to manage it, so ridng if i can continue, will have to be a bit more sedate.
Not that Nicola will let us out of our local areas for a few weeks yet anyway. She reckons we have fewer cases than England but we can't ease lockdown as quickly.
Stay safe.

Still waiting for my Jab. Not rubbing it in at all Managed to get out on a small ride yesterday for the first time this year apart from taking them for the MOT's. The old backside was going a bit flat towards the end of the ride. Need to get some more saddle time in.

Looks like Scotland have complete and utter idiots as well.

Of Course we have idiots up here. Though this lot aren't the only ones. They are publicised more, the SNP do not like the Union Flag or anything related to unionism. England has more population density, that's about the only difference.
