I have to say it does apeal to me too being the week before my 66th Buffday( how better to pre spend it with forum members)but having been quite rough the last 3 weeks and now awaiting test results on yet another potential health issue, would have to make it a maybe and also I still have to try and get the Kangoroo(or as Satnav put it in a PM Kan’tgo, otherwise being a Cockney born softie southerner might be a little far for me these days via two wheels.

Probably too far away for me. Mrs works weekends and kids to keep tabs on.
Shame you can't come down to sunny Devon and take a trip around Dartmoor, Exemoor, Teign Valley, etc

Me and Jools are getting married in Sidmouth next May All those places you mention are lovely on bikes - we used to have a trundle that way every year. Last time , Dartmoor was entirely shrouded in fog and was more than a little wet. Probably the last time we saw NeilMud

Probably the last time we saw NeilMud Carol and I still talk about that trip - probably the wettest we've been (no, hang on, that would be Scotland) Either way it was a good trip to the tip of the country that we'll never forget. Sorry for the hijack

I've just changed oil n filter. Unfortunately can't make the JJ. Unless there is any en-suite rooms going cheap. (I did look at the time but prices a bit too rich for my Yorkshire pockets). I know its the wrong thread - but here's wishing everyone a very happy Christmas.

Did a practice run today, me as tail-end Charlie, Bobh leading the way. He picked a nice day for it & some lovely roads, a real variety . Cake at the first stop was checked & it passed with honours. Later stop at Popham airfield supplied welcome tea. Fuel stop perfectly timed for when my fuel light came on. The boy's done good . If you can make this run, come along

[quote author=" m40man " source="/post/265450/thread" timestamp="1514654178" He might well look happy [/quote] Not sure why - there's a ton of crud that needs washing off the bike in the morning. But it was good to get out on the bike again after what seems like an age. And it didn't (quite) rain!

I keep checking the forecast for Sunday.
Inevitably it changes almost hourly, but at the moment it looks as if the temperature might just creep above freezing by the time the run is due to start. Apart from the run route itself, if there's a lot of ice around I'll be struggling to get to the main road into Wantage (which may or may not have been salted - I suspect Oxfordshire don't like paying Saturday night overtime to their gritters). And I no longer have a bike with winter tyres, unlike certain Grove-dwellers of my acquaintance.
So I'll keep a watchful eye on things, but watch this space in case they deteriorate and I decide it's best to cancel.

We must admit we have been watching the weather and ice looks like it might rear it's ugly head, so postponing rather than cancelling seems like a good option.

We must admit we have been watching the weather and ice looks like it might rear it's ugly head, so postponing rather than cancelling seems like a good option. Rob and Fern Exactly so. Great minds and all that. It's at or below freezing here at the moment, with a heavy frost and puddles iced over, and tomorrow is likely to be similar. So I propose to postpone. How do folks feel about moving it to the last Sunday of this month, the 28th - at least that's still in January? Hopefully by then it will be a shade warmer. Bob H

Thats music to my ears Shirley Bob , or maybe its just the tinnitus. Although its 3C here in the balmy south with ne'er a sign of frost the 28th seems a good choice.
Cheers

I can't make the 28th myself as I'm flying to Cape Town but Debs wants to attend
