Hello all!
I'm Allan, I live in Preston and I'm the happy owner of an XJ600, which I've had for all of... ooh... 29 hours.
She's a lovely '95 which has obviously been well taken care of and hasn't been out much - the last owner put 4,000 miles on in a year but prior to that she'd averaged about a thousand miles a year. The (original!) exhaust will need replacing once the salt's off the roads in the spring.
She's currently in the shop being re-shod with a new pair of BT45s. I'd love to learn more about looking after her and making the best use of her - and any Lancs-base riders looking for another bod for a rideout are welcome to give me a nod.

Welcome, Zed. That's a nice looking 600N you have.
I prefer the look of naked bikes myself - but a bit of wind / rain protection on the quicker roads is essential for my delicate frame.
My neighbour has an XJ900 in his garage, but won't sell it to me. I'll wear him down, eventually ;D.

Ayup Zed, nice bike - best colour, too. I like faired and unfaired bikes - not really got a preference (I could be persuaded to replace my ZX9 with a ZRX12...) but these days I do need a bit of comfort.

Hi all , the name is Paul was a late starter with the bikes, had my first one about 15 years ago which was a wee scooter to get into work, colegues soon talked me into buying something bigger and as soon as i passed my test i bought a divvi , my pals were with me and could not believe a picked my 6oo divi over a brand new bandit, but hey i loved the lines of the Divi and i was spending the money so why not, ive not been on it for a few years because of a nasty divorce and it needs a lot of tlc, i could take a bank loan out and buy a new bike , but for some reason im attached to my bike, have ridden with many of my pals "better Bikes" but my last trip was to Wales and my best mate greetin (crying ) on his Ninja cos the steep hills made his wrists hurt, boohoo, i loved it, anyway i dont have the money to buy a new bike so will do my bike up and hopeully have the fun i used to have

(although your use of the word greetin would seem to indicate North East?) I've got a Ninja, but my manly wrists don't hurt (we have exercises down south to build them up, you know )

Sorry to hear about the nasty divorce. Been there, done that and bought a Divvie cuz it was all I could afford. Best thing I ever did - divorce that is (and the divvie is good too).

I'm Ian I live in Cardiff (but am originally from the Wirral) I ride an XJ600s Previously had a BSA A10 (sold to help fund my daughter's time at university) and a Bantam (which I still have), both bought as non-runners and rebuilt for use as daily transport. Hoping the Yamaha will provide more reliability and fewer oil leaks!

Welcome,
Mica, Ian, Paul, Joe, Terry, Carl and Andy. (Not too far from you in Beverley)
Might be a little far for Mica, but hope to meet you all at some point. It's nice not to follow fashion and thereby become a Divvy owner aint it?
Safe riding one and all,
Neil

Pilgrim here. I own an XJ600N, returned to biking three years ago after lots of 70's and 80's 2-T's. Last big bike before my abstinance was an XS750 triple.
Enjoying the new found freedom. ;D
