Hi,
Just found you all! I'm Jules, living near Stoke-on-Trent. Good to see a few other Staffs riders here. Bike - red XJ600S Diversion - bought just a month ago after 18 years on four wheels. Am loving being back on two!

I recently bought a play bike though, Kawasaki ZX6r Ninja I've nicknamed Nikita....she's luuurrvvvllllyyyyy. Still got me Helga though! ;D
Happy riding out there, but remember to Ride Safe!
See you on some runs one day.

As for that other Jools what just replied... one day she'll get a grown-up bike ;D ;D ;D ;D Welcome anyway, from the seat of civilisation on this fine island of ours.

;D Yes, sorry, most definitely a girl! One day I will work out how to do all the clever stuff with profiles etc...watch this space. In the meantime, I shall remain an international woman of mystery...
I passed my test way back when (before it got complicated), but have a good friend who came out with me the first few times I took the bike out, and I am now thinking about the IAM. Having said that, I am loving every minute of it, and have done a few fairly long trips now - the bike has become the main mode of transport, and I've got my confidence back completely now.
Thanks for the welcome both - and yes, hopefully meet up on one of the runs one day. I have a slightly mad lifestyle, so a little unpredictable about whens and wheres, but it does look like you all have a great time! That sense of community spirit is one of the things I've really missed whilst locked in my 4 wheeled box.
Jules

He's probably just a bit green that you have 2 bikes, Jools! There seems to be a thing about girls and Ninjas - I park next to one at work that belongs to a girl too. I've not ridden one, but it has a smaller frame size and looks a lot lighter than the Divvy, which I guess might explain the girl appeal? Jules

There are a few in Stoke On Trent..... do you like Oatcakes? ;D

Doesn't everyone like oatcakes??? Although I notice quite a few Scots here too, and their idea of an oatcake is something entirely different...I love lots of things about Scotland, but Scottish oatcakes are definitely not on the list

I don't understand this unhealthy fascination with oatcakes... Must be a northern thing - us civilised southerners find they hide the texture of the caviar too much....

"Ex Bikes include.....Villiers 98, Square four,Enfied crusader, Lambretta gt200"
Welcome Paulajayne to the YDC. Good to see another Essex member on board. I live in Hainault Essex.
I like the above list of previous! Villiers 98 eh! I had one yonks ago, it had a 2 speed gear-box with a rocking gear-change pedal and Girder type front forks. I always fancied a RE Crusader Sports but bought a Honda CB72 instead. And an old Square Four eh! Now you're talking bikes.
You've had a wealth of biking experience then.
Again - Welcome to the Divi Club ;D

Hi Gill and welcome to the site.
Pleased to hear you've just passed your direct access and joined the divvy club. Getting one or two new lady bikers on the divvies now, I think they are an ideal first 'big bike'.
Enjoy your new found freedom and stay safe.

Hi to everyone, I am Sharklet (also known as Mrs Dah Dit!). I passed my test last Friday (Yippee) and as many of you know am the proud owner of a K reg, green Divvy 600. I am originally from Bury, Lancs but we live in Beverley, East Yorkshire (you don't seriously think Neil would move to Lancashire - heaven forbid). Looking forward to meeting more of you soon and accompanying you on meets. Keep riding.
