Am I supposed to remember this ? wait a minute, isn't Sutton bank a huge hill ? I will probably have to push the GP up that. I seem to remember being in 2nd gear getting my car up there several years ago.

The C2C transport was MOTed today so all I need is tax and insurance and we are ready for the adventure Looks nice, I have a very similar bike somewhere, only in 100cc form, minus the front forks, it's certainly not fit to do the C2C, as its in boxes, My steed is being mot'd next week, as well as my sons steed,

Bit of further fettling this morning, I've gone for practicality & found a way to get at least some modern luggage capacity :

Note the use use of a plank on which to run the back wheel - making it possible for even the most weak & feeble Northern type to wrestle this beasty onto it's centre stand .

One of the issues with it, it was fitted with bigger tyres, so the stand is to short, I replaced the front tyre, but it needs the back replaced with a 2.75 or a 2.50, rather than the 3.00 fitted, I welded a bit onto the stand so it works, but when I restore it, I will fit the correct tyre to the rear!

Hang on a mo' - we're camping overnight & I've been preparing my adventure machine for the endeavour with some bodgetastic luggage solutions only to find it's all unnecessary ? Should I still carry my cooker & kettle so I can brew up, roadside, to offer comfort to the broken-down & distressed ?

Nice - now that everyone seems to be using 90cc or above machines, will you all with road gearing offer to wait for me as I redline it in top trying to keep up ? Maybe have a spare piston waiting for me, for the inevitable engine seize ?

There will still be a 50cc being trashed to within an inch of it's life, trying desperately to haul an overweight Grandfather across the UK, in your rear view mirror.

Maybe have a spare piston waiting for me, for the inevitable engine seize ? Yours will be fast compared to Roberts mad ass, it's 70cc but that gets it to 40mph max, The cb100 can cruise at 50 easly on the flat, but is done before it reaches 60mph, and it's faster than the s90, which is as fast as the last Honda SS50, it lacks the 5 speed box, and wears a badly fitted at the head C90 silencer, Its not a race anyhow, more an endurance, there should be no need to thrash them much! Anyhow the cb100 seems to smoke more than it should, so it might not make it, though it does have very effective brakes!

Its not a race anyhow, more an endurance, there should be no need to thrash them much! Good point. Glad you reminded me - because after another test ride this evening I noticed a factor which will restrict the performance of the KE100. I understand that cold fuel has a higher calorific value that the same volume of warm fuel, because the warm fuel has expanded somewhat. My fuel is being pre-heated by the proximity of the fuel filter to the hot engine: The fuel filter was hand-hot after the ride. Hot fuel going in can't be good for wringing that extra mile per hour out of the poor gal, right ?. Also, if the heat is sufficient over time to melt the plastic or the glue of the filter, my fuel could spill out everywhere & starve the engine of precious explosive capacity . Now you've reminded me that it's not a race, you've put my mind at rest .

Or are you gonna use it ala nitrous oxide for a boost? * *under yer erse if you're not careful

Ffs! Seems an easy enough fix to move the fuel line/ filter a tad further away. Less easy than you'd think! Really need a smaller filter, its a bit tight around there - but after the last one started leaking everywhere (*), this is the smallest the car accessory place had . ...... got 62mph (on the clock!) down a big hill tonight . (*) Wonder if it got too hot ??
