I might attempt the first adventure of the new year, Traditionally I should really use a flat twin with 3 wheels and dodgy electrics,
I won't disappoint!

Everything near Groovy Grove is good. We have a range of places, from inexpensive camping & bunkhouse accommodation: www.courthill.org.uk/.... to quite posh (IE expensive!) B&B: www.regisguesthouse.com/Plenty of places somewhere between the two. I[1] might be persuaded to pick you up & transport to & from hostelry on the Saturday night if you stay over . [1] Or at least - someone sober I can find .

I've just noticed the OP, Finish before it gets too dark, haven't you lot got lights ? Do they go dim with the heated grips, gloves and waistcoats draining the battery ?

I've just noticed the OP, Finish before it gets too dark, haven't you lot got lights ? Do they go dim with the heated grips, gloves and waistcoats draining the battery ? I make allowances for the true adventurers out there like Ian, who typically sometimes [1] has a 4 hour run home. I fancy he can get well clear of the county & be no longer a burden to the local services before the ice reforms on the cooling roads. [1] Took me ages to get rid of him last year though.

[1] Took me ages to get rid of him last year though. Don't make him so comfortable next time. He's a Northerner and not used to that level of civilisation.

Shame, but I saw it coming a mile away. They'd only recently opened their "American Diner" place on the A420, which at least got a bit of passing trade, being at a service area on a trunk route. But instead of waiting to get that established to make sure the business model was viable, (and by all accounts it was struggling, for all sorts of reasons, like their burgers were £10.50 a pop), they naively went ahead and lashed out loads of cash on the ex-Volunteer pub. No doubt the banks, or whoever was financing them (and was gullible enough to believe their business plan), will take them for every penny they had, which is very sad. Anyway, I'll be there (wherever it finally is). Bob

Having missed it the last couple of years through a combination of a busted oil cooler and pure laziness, I intend to take part this year. Be rude not to as it's on the doorstep.
