We've been to all the major west coast venues, but if folks want to go back to one, now is your chance to vote, one vote/member.
Ullapool was considered, but is too far for a 4 day trip. An expedition later in the year taking in there and round the West and North West coast is at the discussion stage and will be the subject of another thread. It will include Applecross!

Voted for Oban. Any chance of some ferry trips to any of the isles?

Voted for Oban. Any chance of some ferry trips to any of the isles? Isle of Mull is biggest nearby, roads get terrible reviews Are you a biker or a sailor?

A bit of Island hopping could be good. The problem with that is getting a large number of bikes on some of the sailings.
I voted for Ft Bill as it's a good while since we did it.

If you stay at Ft William then you can get the short ferry trip to Mull its just turn up & go no booking. The roads in Mull are a bit rough but well worth the visit. Neil

My preference would be Fort William - simply because I've not stayed there before and it's good to try something new occasionally.
(Sorry Dave Martin !)

Wullie is obviously looking for somewhere a bit livelier than Ft William. In Scotland?

I haven't voted yet, purely because I don't know if I will make it yet. You often see these polls get weighted by people that don't actually go. I went on another (non biking) forum trip to Glasgow once, they had a poll on where to stay, loads of people voted for an expensive country club out in the sticks, so we booked in there. Turned out everyone who actually went had voted to stay in the town centre, and we could have saved a fortune on taxis and an expensive room (that was used between 7am & 8am before I needed to catch a flight ) I loved Fort William for the scenery, and that drunken night with Wullie, Teff and Mac I loved Oban for the scenery and that mad pub under the guest house Aviemore was very nice and liked the all you can eat Italian place and the log cabin pubs, but a bit far and a bit chilly for a softy southerner. Haven't been to Callender so can't commment Glad Alva didn't make the poll Dave

Unsure of commitments, so I won't vote yet, but Fort Bill would be ok for me.
For the would be sailors you could do Mallaig-Armadale-Skye and come back by the bridge.

At least the Scottish Cup final won't encroach on JR14 should his team fluke another appearance. yes...but the champions' league final is that weekend....so a similar situation may occur.

yes...but the champions' league final is that weekend....so a similar situation may occur. I hope you mean you're following Barelona Anything else and you could be sharing a room with Aardy i'm simply alluding to a possibility....why would that mean that i'm following barcelona?...or are you saying that it's not a possibility that celtic could be in the cl final in 2014?

Now I know how much you like a bet and I'm not a betting man. What about it though. For this, I'm prepared to bet that Celtic will not play in the 2014 Champions League Final. Are you prepared to bet they will ? Or are you too shy to back your team ? I won't offer odds, what about a straight bet, my money against yours with a Charity as beneficiary. Stoopid boy! It's obvious Wullies reference to cl is that not so well known Cnuts League. Wouldn't surprise me if both you and Wullie put in an appearance. :-D
