I have PM'd coastaldivvy suggesting to simply mask off the offending flare with adhesive tape should the natives get restless! I think he'll be doing daylight riding almost exclusively over here anyway. I've pointed my 600N headlamp directly face on to a wall and found a slight flare, to the right of course. ;D ;D ;D

Good to hear all arrived safely Deb's & I are gutted that we are not there but it has meant that the weather is better than what normally occurs at Easter on our runs. Hope you have a great weekend and look forward to the photos

OK gordy I'll leave it as it is. Must stick to tradition! Well it's been a fine start to the weekend! Today"s ride was to simply find little hidden corners close to where we live and get a bit used to riding together as a group. As it was we visited a spectacular hidden lake, rode past Megalithic sites, followed the Villaine river from it's high banks and down into the marshes (not literally) then stopping at a panoramic view of Redon and it's surrounding countryside and finally a triumphal entry into the Chateau town of Rochefort-on-Terre, through the defensive gateway and up the winding cobbled streets and parking in the middle of a courtyard from yesteryear! The prize for this was..................a visit to the best Ice Cream shop in the whole of Brittany. There, and you wanted pictures Mac! Great day, great weather and an even better day planned for tomorrow. We are off to find the Lady of the Lake in the Brociliande forest, Merlin is still alive and working in a creperie in Josselin too so we're going there before the barbecue of the weekend, chez Pilgrim! (Any claim of exaggeration against the author will be strongly rebutted and met on the field of honour....Diversions at Dawn! ) Pilgrim ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry to not have got back before now, just having a very good time! Here are some pics from the weekend. The others took far more photo's than me and I'm sure they'll post them up too. Rule One: Park in the shade! Cameras at the ready. Unfortunately Molestrangler damaged his leg muscles through cramp and couldn't join us for the last run. So off to the seaside at Billiers. Ice creams at Rochefort en Terre. Yummy. The Big Barbecue Bouffe Chez Pilgrim. They are on the boats going home now. great weekend, lots of fine roads in sunny weather. A big thanks to Ian and Pat, Peter and Vivienne, Charlie for coming over here and our daughter Laura (she was taxi driver Saturday and Sunday evenings) for making such a brilliant Easter Meet! Brian and Susan.

Got home at 5.30, 13 hours after leaving the hotel. At last I appear to be getting along with the bike, nowhere near as much discomfort as on previous days - might keep it after all. Great few days away, very interesting village you live in Brian, lots to see. Great hotel, better company, superb weather and a knowledgeable guide, all the ingredients for a great weekend. Many thanks to Susan and Brian for the invitation and for being great hosts. Pics to follow ( when I find out how to add them) Ian & Pat

Arrived home at 9pm after a long but pleasant ferry crossing. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend! Many thanks to Brian and Susan for their hospitality and expert local knowledge, and to Ian, Pat and Charlie for their great company. Weather was a tad on the warm side - should have taken my summer riding gear! Hoping for another Brittany run next year.

You're all welcome to come again. Just give me time...... I meant to give you all a list of the principal places we visited for your photo albums. Here it is, albeit a little late: Friday; Lake at St Just; Villaine river at Beslé; view over Redon at Belvedère; Ice creams at Rochefort en Terre. Saturday: Paimpont Abbey and Lake (in The Brociliande Forest, well established origins of King Arthur and Merlin ;D); Chateau town of Josselin. Sunday: Beach and cliffs at Billiers; River Barrage at Arzal; Suspension Bridge and Marina at La Roche Bernard. Pilgrim.

Front of the Europ Hotel, great place to stay. Bikes parked out front, in the shade. Paimpont Abbey which the French would have us believe is the 'real' home of King Arthur and Merlin Brians pad, night of a fantastic BBQ Brian does have the most amazing view from his house, lucky chap Shame more members could'nt join the tour, great weather, great scenery and great host. For the first time since the last week of March it rained here today..... Well actually all day!
Lots of ideas for another Brittany Run and Susan and I have discovered some new roads to include next time.
As Normandy will be taking up the wet and cold Easter next year we might look for a Summer break to take in Porcaro, maybe.
I'll keep you posted.
Pilgrim.

Of course, if you don't want to visit here DahDit that means more empty roads for those that do. And then there's the sunshine, those ice-creams and the best barby in Brittany. Your loss mate. Seriously, hope you can get over this way some time, YDC Run or not.

That's right, rub it in Myself and Jane had made initial plans to join you this year, but our Babysitters decided to book a holiday for themselves that week,..... that's after we asked them The photo's make the disappointment even greater. Still can't see the attraction tho', not when there's places such as Margate that offer similar over here. ;D
