Just noticed on page 5 that the engine is in loads of bits. Are you just tarting the covers up? Or are you looking for a replacement engine?

Forks are in.. Bolt snapped getting the front discs off, drilled & tapped that. swingarm is welded, it doesn't look great but it will be under the bike so will do. The rust is just surface rust, obviously with it being media blasted & left un painted for a month! Should be sorted for the 27th ish..

Got the swinger back from the coaters, it doesn't look great, the pitting is visable, its not the worst but it could be better. Not sure if ive put the bearing seals in right? I just tapped them in with a socket. Also got the bearings in underneath with a bit of threaded bar & a couple of washers. Will try get it in tomorrow. Β£483.31 +Β£20. Β£503.31 Greasy.

Looks ok to me. They don't take a lot of pressure (hammering) to drive them home. Just had my s/arm powder coated too, so refitting and greasing the bearings are fresh in my mind. Keep your eye on them there spacers when refitting.
Getting warmer now Craig, so I expect this to be finished soon.

Need to order some paint for the diff & some new studs. First time it's seen daylight for nearly a year.

Believe it or not, they both have very similar 'wet' weights! Over 230kg each, big fat fornicators.
Edit:
Or so Wikipedia tells me. Ha

Found this the other day, lost it after putting it in a 'safe place' last summer. No idea why the image won't work. It's the vin plate.

Manager just offered me his other bike for Β£150 after it failed MOT. Cracked front discs, Rear disc pitted, rear brake didn't meet standards. Some other niggly bits on it.
I turned it down.. You should see it pop up on eBay any day now!

Hi Craig. If the second bike was a runner, it might have been a good buy cos you could have used the carbs on yours. By the look of it there's not many other bits on the red un thats any good! Did he ever do any thing to his bikes? (apart from running them into the ground I mean)

As far as I'm aware they only had what they needed to stay on the road, no servicing ECT.
Sold for Β£360 if I remember right!
I'm not sure if that's a bargain or not..

Just been away for 2 weeks & come back to a puddle of fork oil in the garage.
I wonder if it's been stood up too long?
pishing out.
Might sling the engine in it & eBay it, can't be bothered anymore.

Keep the faith Craig, after all the time and effort you`ve put into it I think you`d always regret not finishing it. At one point I was considering binning mine off as a few boxes of parts but I`ve decided to not let the soddin` thing beat me. And I was hoping to use your rebuild pics as manual for putting mine back together!!

Hi Craig. I can also understand your dilemma - in fact I thought you were brave to take it on at all. You've come this far.... The project has been highly entertaining for me personally As far as the forks go (not that I'm an expert or owt) but I believe it is easy to put fork seals in upside down - and if you do, they will defo leak. (just watched a Delboys Garage vid). Anyway whatever you decide to do, good luck, and keep in touch. ATB
