Given that size apparently matters I've ordered new shocks for the GP, maybe should have raised it by 10mm at the same time. I hope they fit. Now all I need is a 250cc engine to slip into the frame when nobody is looking and the race is on. I think that you have the fastest bike, even if it won't pull top gear, you don't need 250cc,

Are you planning on breaking down ? Planning? With Martin it'll be a given, anyone with garage space nearby be afraid, be very afraid ! Good luck with the adventure chaps, (and chapesses). Pics are mandatory.

Are you planning on breaking down ? Not at all. Just looking for a reciprocal arrangement with someone else who definitely won't break down either, purely for peace of mind .

The GP is commuting sometime this week. Assuming we're not in the midst of a tropical depression like today.

Where are you all staying in Scarborough? Unfortunately not been able to sort a bike to do the C to C, but thought maybe see you lot en-route and a offer any assistance/take piccis, then join in the banter in Scarborough. What do yer think? Will I be allowed as I would be riding the D9.

Hi Ian. Due to a family do (that I'd forgotten about) won't be able to stay anywhere overnight, but will be out on bike on Saturday. I have the route, so hopefully will meet up at some point. Just for my information - are you going to try and stick together, or is it a proper Top Gear job? Have you planned any brew stops? Cheers and good luck everyone.

Just for my information - are you going to try and stick together, or is it a proper Top Gear job? Have you planned any brew stops? Cheers and good luck everyone. There are no actual planned stops, I thought that we might stop for lunch somewhere though I kind of thought around lunch time, someone would spot a chippy, the only definite stop will be Reeth, which may be lunch time, or may be just an ice cream stop, the run is only loosely planned, so I quite expect to make some mistakes along the way, brew stops are whenever M40man cracks out the kettle and stove, my intention is to stick with Martin, then moan how long it takes him to brew up and the carp selection of biccies that he has, though there is no compulsion to follow in a group, I kind of think a group will develop, Top gear rules, which ones, the ones they claim on camera, or the real ones? don't forget your video camera/camera's guys punctures, as most of the bikes have inner tubes, me and Rob will be carrying a can of the tyre repair/sealant, that also blows the tyre up, by filling the tube with a latex sealant, good as a temporary measure, I will also have a couple of straps, so we can tow a bike in the event of engine trouble, plus of course Debs will be following in a van!

Took the AP50 out for a final shake down last week and noticed that the clutch was slipping slightly. Today I fitted new clutch plates but it seems not to have made much difference. I'm beginning to think that the slow movement when the bike is revving it's nuts off is characteristic of the bikes performance . Anyway if it is a dodgy clutch I've spoken to my vehicle sponsor & supplier and a back up has been organised. Still a Suzuki 50 though so not falling into the "my mopeds playing up so brought the R1 as backup" excuse. One thing concerns me. Do I need to bring my own tea mug or is Martin bringing enough for everybody? Also will there be a choice of various teas or is it just the basic Darjeeling and Earl Grey? Will bring scones.

Mac raises an important question. I'll provide English Breakfast Tea. Any specialities, please bring your own. I will have mugs (loosely described!). A test load this evening shows all is ready: FAO: Fiasco ...... Can I borrow your Overboard bag ?
