Open to vehicles of less than 100cc,
though 125cc will be accepted,if you can prove you owned the vehicle before January 2015,
the plan will be to arrive in Cumbria on the Friday 18th September, in good time to attend piss taking scrutineering, early Saturday heading to Whitehaven to the start, then taking scenic roads between Whitehaven and Scarborough, staying in Scarborough on the Saturday evening and returning to Cumbria on the Sunday,
This is a race bimble, where at least some of the vehicles attending will struggle to hit 30mph, and be of a step through type,
this type is ideal, as they can usually fit in a standard hatchback if the front wheel is removed and the bars turned down, they can be tuned quite easily,
participants should consider it a cycle run where you don't have to pedal (much), in the case of some mopeds,
Pi$$taking is compulsory, breaking down optional,
For those that wish to attend but don't think it worth purchasing a moped, for one event, there will be other events, depending on how successful this event turns out!

I've booked the Broughton Craggs Hotel in Cockermouth (well just outside!) for the Friday night but struggling in Whitby for the Saturday.
Scarborough has loads of beds so is it an option to divert to here?

I know the Broughton Craggs is a bit out of town but was the only hotel I could find in the vicinity that was reasonably priced, had parking and more than 3 rooms available for other runsters to join should they so wish. I often book a hotel for a run to at least ensure I have a place to sleep but then change it to the group hotel later if need be. In the same vein I've booked the Premier Inn in Scarborough for the Saturday just to ensure a bed but will cancel and rebook should the CO post a preferred establishment.

Well, like I said it's a brill idea. I was looking at three bikes that I have owned in the past. First a BSA Bantam 175 cc. Second a Suzuki B120, and third a Yamaha Yb100. The three bikes I am looking at are all a tad expensive so was just wondering how rigid the cc limit was. No probs with the current limit, as I know this started off with the discussion about fifties CC's that is. All three bikes on eBay btw

No. Are you mad, we might be going under 100cc but we aren't going to be 17 again. last time I attempted to camp, Oban JR11 ? I ended up walking like I had a large implement inserted in my anus, 3 months I did that Quasimodo impersonation. Wasn't funny at the time.

Is this one of those runs where we all muck in & help if someone's bike breaks down? Or can we ride off & leave 'em? Just asking, as it emerges just what some folks are planning on riding .

I feel that the "Top Gear" approach of abandonment would need to be adopted to ensure that at least one participant reaches the destination. Debs can always transport the wreck and rider in the seats of shame to Scarborough

Is this one of those runs where we all muck in & help if someone's bike breaks down? Or can we ride off & leave 'em? Just asking, as it emerges just what some folks are planning on riding . Why you asking like! Are you asking because of what you have bought, or what you see others have bought I thought Debs was following in the Van, But other than that, I expect anyone breaking down can get towed by another bike, that's the only breakdown cover There's no need to particularly follow each other in a group, it's envisaged that rout and stops will be fixed, and we may set off together, but faster bikes can reach the next stop and order a coffee, without waiting for the slower bikes, how it works will of course depend on the numbers attending, and the wishes of those riding, My plan is to have a breakfast stop, coffee stop mid morning, maybe a chip shop lunch and coffee in the afternoon, though without planning it to the n'th degree! anyhow where are the pictures of your steed?
