The Sinnis is 12v, but not sure if it will cope with a wattage sucking sat nav

No he's perfectly correct, for him, you have to remember he's backward.

Just had a quick look at the map. I'm going to have to do 245 miles just to get to Whitehaven , but then it's only a 165 mile pop over to Scarborough. But thinking about it..... I could do just like we use to do in the 70's .......tail gate an artic and so keep cruising speed at 60mph, saving fuel at the same time

For me it's 270 as the crow flies,or 355 each way,by road.
Does it coincide with the Classic Manx GP? However even combining the two, to be honest and not wishing to be wimpish, I do have an ongoing ticker issue (over 2 decades)the latest bit of internal plumbing reengineering muted,(if ever one ever gets an apointment for the referred echocardiogram),may involve a pacemaker, on the basis I don't always pace myself, and think I can still do all sorts, I used to be able to, I do not want to be a liability.
I like to live life to the fullest being a lucky survivor, but didn't really realise the magnitude of the route, 160 miles each way, and with me on a tidler, so sorry I am dropping out, but will continue to follow progress with great interest.

It can't clash with the classic TT, as I know 2 or 3 of the group are going! Shame your dropping out, the actual riding is easy, you don't get tired, because it's like riding a pedal bike without pedalling, and there's no straining into wind,

Debs is going to drive at 30mph ? That's OK then. Long drive at 30? It can be done - but it might be advisable for Debs to have a companion. Back in 88 we bought a Leyland Atlantean bus from Plymouth, and I drove a crew down there in the evening - 268 miles in 3 hours, then back overnight - 268 miles of empty motorway at a max 35mph in a car that would happily cruise at 140. I had the foresight to take a companion, whose sole purpose was to wake me up if I fell asleep. We lived to tell the tale, but 10 hours at that speed was a tad on the uninteresting side. I really like the sound of this run, but I don't know if I will be able to come along. I could do with a rich uncle dying and leaving me some money. Sadly I only have 2 known uncles left - one is a retired vicar and one is a retired layabout so I won't hold my breath.

You know you don't need all these cc's.

I managed to have ago on the Puch today, seems to be a bit of a power monster, into 40 on the flat, though it could have given more, I was warming it up, so didn't give it full bore, but off the clock going down hill which is only to 45mph, and climbing past 30 up the hill to my house, all on an uncalibrated speedo mind!
on a bike as spindly as the Puch, that was more than scary, I might have to gear it down though, once I try some big hills!

The Puch now won't start, I suspect it's the old fuel, I have drained it out, but I am going to set up a method of removing rust from the tank, it's not bad, but I might as well de rust it,
The fuel that I drained didn't smell like good fuel smells,
I currently am de rusting another tank, using electrolysis first, so when that finishes I will get onto the mighty Puch,

Personally I would be inclined to use 20-1 with a couple of drops of RedX, or even try a bit of super unleaded, because with the tuning bits you may have upped the compression ratio?

I'm guessing he's snapped his power band. We're doing well with these bikes. Is anyone going to make it to the start never mind finish.

No I replaced the head with the correct 70cc version, the oil/fuel ratio, is supposed to be 50/1, but I plan on running it 40/1, I may need to re jet the carb once new fuel is in the tank, bear in mind 2 stroke oil has improved somewhat since the 80's why would I need red ex? the barrel, piston, rings, head and carb including inlet are all new, as is the exhaust!

I still have a running 50cc moped, just needs the lights sorted, actually it surprises me that it's still running, because the fuel in it was what I put in when I did the last coast to coast, which was in 2010! that fuel will be drained as well!

No persuasion required, he'll never keep his hands off it until September.
Probably be a box of bits by then

Maybe he will change his riding style, seeing as it's such a small power output, no crazy overtakes, or is that no overtakes, he does know the rule that if your vehicle of choice happens to be a trial bike, then he must wheely it to the judges satisfaction, didn't he?

No persuasion required, he'll never keep his hands off it until September. It's all true - this afternoon I've pumped up the tyres & adjusted the brake cables . Am thinking of fitting some ally panniers, GS-adventure-stylee, but prices so far seem to be around what the bike cost . Suggestions for frugal alternatives welcomed . Hang on - I'll be needing daytime running lights, heated grips, phone charger, power for a tyre inflater & the satnav, a clock & a compass. Plenty to do then, thanks .
