Original mess After 48 hours of cola After 36 hours of vinegar Now bathing in a rust inhibitor mixed with wd40, will leave it a couple of hours then I will bring it in the house to dry. Hopefully get some time on Sunday to rinse it with fresh fuel and then get it on the bike and filled up.

I'm not scare mungering ha ha but the original rotted through pin holes at the exact same place where this one had started to rust . Scb motorcycles were selling a tank and it had the same patch repair as my original tank so must be a weak point tho plenty don't suffer so I think it must be certain conditions that start the rust at that particular point of the tank

So got a wee bit further the day, got the tank on and all working ( forgot to say when tank was off I stripped down and cleaned out the fuel tap ) noticed on the old tank and this tankthere was a wear line where seat rubs off the tank so trippled up some vinyl and cut out the shape of the seat to stop the paint rubbing through / marking as quick. Wee bit bias but really happy how the colour looks

Did have them stripped down completely but my hands were to oily to take photos ha ha Fork seals weren't leaking but since I was changing the oil and changing their colour then thought it would be rude not to do the seals at the same time

you missed the screen and mirrors!
It does look rather tidy but completely different to all the other D6's around, the colours give it a 80's feel!
