Hi all,
Lookin to replace the mirrors on my bike.
are the threads 8mm or 10mm ?
Or has anyone changed mirrors to something other than the originals / patterns ?
Not looking to attach to the fairing.

I believe they are 10mm. One side is handed so make sure you don't get a pair with identical turn threads! (Some mirror sets are sold with 'adaptor' to meet both possibilities.)  |

The LHS is M10 normal, the RHS is M10 left-handed thread. You must be sure to get Yamaha or meant-for-yamaha mirrors. I wouldn't change them unless you have to, 3rd party mirrors will invariably be badly made. IE: no vibe damping (there's a weight in the OE mirror's head), cheap chrome if chromed (never polish only wash these or it will flake off). I've even had ones where the glass was not really stuck in properly and rattled. Stick with OE if you can.

I put these on mine three years ago. They were 'meant' for a Yamaha as Amorti says. I've had no problem with vibes or rattles!  |
