Have an opportunity to go to Castle Coombe circuit. :woohoo:
Who has been to a track day?
I know it can be fun and it will tell you how fast you can ride on the track. What does it do for your road riding skill?
Any pointers?

Hi Tony
I have heard lots of good stuff about how track days can improve your riding, and also get to find out what your bike can do in a more sterile environment.
I would be inclined to go for a track training day rather than a full on track day. Companies like Rapid Training and Hopp Rider Training specialise in instructional track days for the novice track rider.
If you go to a normal track day beware of thugs like Gurninman hooning past you on one wheel
Dave :-)

Hello Dave, Good point about the relevance to road riding. Have not decided yet but tempted just to sharpen up my cornering skill. However, having covered half my IAM training in the rain and wind and been shown a few tips, especially cornering it has boosted my confidence. .........Still getting use to the grip of today's profiled tyres in the wet ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) BTW Kernow Rules, still ?

Our infamous military road is like a race track on a Sunday afternoon, so save the money from doing a track day and get down to the Isle of Wight meet Tony ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I'm a very thoughtful, considerate rider who has no need of advanced training cos I already know it all. ;D
