A diversion for the B5056 could be to head up the A515 and through Tissington, that would put you back on the B5056 past the part that's closed. The trouble with that is the far end of the road has to go through the ford. Bah that's barely a puddle ;D Might get a few wet feet if we tried that. Flymo

Been through that ford a few times and what the vid dosn`t show is just how slipery the river bed is. Now I am more than willing to go through but then again I have the bike for it, but I am sure that we would have more than a few members that wouldn`t try it and a few that would get a little wetter than they expected. There is how ever a bridge by the side and on a recky I took a load of friends to the ford just to see there faces and then watched there faces as I went over the bridge on my FJR. I have re routed the secound half and it`s ready for down load. See you all Sunday. Attachments:

Is that the same rickety timber bridge I followed you over when I had the BM a year or two ago ? The day we (didn't) got lost on a detour and ended up with Loz opening and shutting gates all afternoon ? Either way I've 'gone off' fords after dropping the FJR in one down by World's End 2 weeks ago. No water to speak of, even less speed, just some VERY slippery green stuff ! Now you know why I've been after Tigger's Beowulfs (not for the noise at all - honest officer ) Roger

You never told me that you had dropped the bike. That's because : 1) You never asked 2) I haven't seen you since it happened 3) I generally prefer not to advertise my mistakes (don't know what came over me tonight then !) Roger ps - do you feel the pain too ? pps - must remember to leave the panniers off - IIRC that bridge is very narrow !

Don`t worry Rog we won`t be going through that ford or over that bridge so you can rest easy.

Been and had a look... Don't much fancy it, its cobble stones and having watched a few cars bounce around i'd say there are a few missing in places making for hidden pothiles! The rickety Bridge... it's actually pretty solid. Not very deep today 4 or 5 inches i reckon. Did i ride throught it... did i Heck, i rode over the bridge and got on my merry way ;D Made an interesting diversion (no pun intended) to my usual route throught the area. Flymo
