Hi all,
I see Continental's ContiGo commuter tyre is seriously cheap, and I am tempted to give it a go.
Then again, I once saw the same thing about Avon's Roadrunner, and now know 100% that I will never buy another pair of them, as those were the most miserable 10k miles I have ever spent on a motorcycle. Lack of wet and dry grip, tall profile giving twitchy handling, and caused squared off quickly.
So - ContiGo's - anywhere near as good as BT45's? There is potentially a pretty tasty saving to be had, which I am sure we all like when it comes to the 600 Divvy.

£111+£7 post. It seems pretty cheap, but I just worry that as with the Roadrunners, they'll be horrible.

I'm tempted, but the roadrunners were so bad it's put me off straying from the beaten path!
My 45's currently have about 1 month left on them at current usage. They're horrible now, with a feathered front and squared off rear, but still legal. That's the name of the game on this bike!!
Annoyingly I didn't take a proper note of mileage at time of fitment, but I think it was about 8k ago now, so 8-9k from a pair of tyres (front was a part worn, yes yes I am very cheap!) is OK.

The local tyre guy is offering £165 fitted for BT45's and £155 fitted for ContiGO's. That means I'd only be paying him £37 for the service of riding the bike in, having the wheels took off for me, and the tyres fitted and balanced. And I wouldn't have to be indoors to sign for them. For the sake of a tenner, I think I'd even go up one higher and stick with the BT's. I know them, have done probably more than 50k on them spread across two bikes, and can't fault them too badly. To me, paying a bit more suddenly looks like a bargain. Shame it means I won't try something new, but new (as with the Avon's) isn't always the way forward

for the sake of a tenner as you say go with the ones you know.

Agreed. Also got a few reviews on the other divvy board that they are no good in the rain, and the divvy is specifically my wet-weather bike.

With budget tyres being potentially so horrible I'd stick with the ones I know for way more than a tenner saved. BT's aren't cheap but when the bike handles right you'll soon forget the extra few quid.
