My friend's bike, which I've been tidying up to dispose of, has been stood in the shed for a while and when I went to it I found it had leaked a fair amount of fuel onto the floor. On examination it was coming from the fuel tap via a small hole in the underneath of the plastic spacer in the middle, something to do with the vacuum system. I fitted a new fuel tap diaphragm kit from an ebay seller and it's now cured, is it a common failure or something to do with the bike being stood for so long ?

Don't think it's very common, but well done for diagnosing it so quickly.
