Re wired the headlamp with direct wires and relays, in the hope that the headlight will be brighter, and not flash so badly when the indicator is on. I've had the relays lying around for months.
The indicator effect is now fixed and I am waiting till it gets dark early enough for mummy to let me go out on my own and test it.
Until now the only useful purpose served by the headlamp was to prevent a draught through the hole in the front of the fairing whilst bathing the the road in an eerie dull yellow glow.

T'other day I took the weedy bullfrog's fart of a horn off and replaced it with a pair of Hottaz snail horns, relay and everything.
Today I checked the steering bearings, big mistake, very notchy straight ahead. Quick trip to local bearing factors and a couple of shiny 32005/32006 taper rollers ready to go in. Out came a set of balls, dunno when or who put 'em in, but no matter, Mr Dremel had the races out in a jiffy and in went the new boys, nice'n'snug. No real problems except ..... while mooching around under the fairing I noticed the earth wire I had put in for the Hootaz the other day had already chafed through, so while I had room to work without the forks in the way .... job done.
Then it started pishing down.

Fitted some Highway Pegs to my crash bars - got them from Hogparts for around £21 delivered. Very nicely finished too, and will certainly be useful on longer trips to stretch the legs.

Stripped down the front brake callipers, new pistons, seals, pads and bleed nipples. Gave them a good clean and flushed some 5.1 fluid through.

I don't want to worry you (R1Dan) but it appears from the photos that you have a 900, I hope you didn't think it was a 600 . Apart from being in the wrong forum, that is one tidy bike. My buddy has a 900 and it does not look like yours!!! Grum.

Had the tank off, air cleaner check & clean, & a bit of a general spring-clean under there whilst I was at it .

Copper-slipped all the exhaust studs / nuts. Scary taking 'em off first time innit, waiting for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven or all eight of them to snap . My softy frail body exerted insufficient pressure, so I got away with it .

Fitted a replacement oil coooler from China which was easier to do than I thought it'd be (those screen well nuts make me hate removing the fairing.) Though I'd run it without cooler for the last 1000 miles or so since doing my gearbox rebuild at least now I don't need to worry about overheating! Painted the pipes with some high temp exhaust stuff with loctite rust remedy underneath so hopefully won't sprout rust as before, already cut out the original hose bit just put on some better quality stainless clips (cheap ones I bought last time furred and seized in no time) and black fabric braided fuel hose. 65 miles later and it all seems happy with no leaks to report! Oops! Wrong section, sorry 600ers.

Messed up one of the screw heads to the master brake cylinder. Even though the head was made of cheese, I expect to find that the rest is diamond as soon as I start drilling.

Nearly wrote it off when some young tit in a 'hot' hatch came straight out of a blind stop junction. Thank (insert deity of your choice) for blue spots.
