Hi Guys,
I have a what i think is an oil leak?, it's dripping down from me carbs i have taken petrol tank off along with air filter box and have found oil/suds residue around the middle two carbs (ouround top area) and oil around these carbs lower down too which i believe is from dips?, the main thick pipe comming of the air filter box seems to have what i would describe as yellow lard inside the pipe! any pointers onwhat i need to do here wouldbe really appreaciative. Regards Tony

This is well documented on the site.
The problem is the thick tube kinks where it is twisted between the airbox and the tank, if you lower it slowly you will see that. This causes issues with crankcase breathing, ending up the problem you have, I would assume you also get a puddle of oil residue out under the right footpeg sometimes when parked up.
Solution is to swap out the thick piece of tube for an offcut of garden hose.
For more details , do a search.

Yes that's it, my fix will solve that.
What happens is the thick pipe gets kinked, leaving the small pipe at the head to do all the breathing on its own. But it's not big enough. What happens then is oil residue blows into the airbox, can't get out except by the airbox drainhole, and you get a puddle of oily mess by your right footpeg. Not great on your drive, in your garage, work's carpark or anywhere, really. Replace the big tube with thicker pipe and normal service will be resumed; the crankcase will breathe through the airbox like it's meant to, and your oil gets to stay in your engine, likke it's meant to.
You'll have to open up the airbox of course and clean out the residue that's already in there.

The search is a bit odd... Right down at the bottom of the page, you have to specify how far back you want it to look and how many results you want it to show.
