Yes
Mine snapped so I disconnected the electrics gennie and ignition box and tack welded it in-situ.
You could use a threaded bar to bolt the to ends in the right position but its really hard to get an accurate measurement off the bike. This is important because there's not much room in the frame lugs for any mislaignment on the stand.
I then took off the stand and welded it properly. I added some 25mm x 3mm steel across the stand to stop the legs twisting against each other. Two strips below the spring and one above the spring at the front of the stand. Two above would be ideal but the back strip would foul the spring.
I then had it powder coated because paint only lasts about 1/2 a winter.

Me too on my D9 1998 - mine has snapped again yesterday for the second time :-( not on the original weld at the joining edge of the cross bar but along the cross bar itself it is zig zagging about 2 inches showing where it wants to break It has not snapped or completly broken but having tried to put it on it's centre stand I immediatley noticed it leaning away from me and having had the same thing before recognised the symptons and did not put it up on the centre stand potentialy completly knackering it - phew!! Hence the cross bar is only showing the crack which hopfully can be welded closed without any movement fom it's bolting alignment positions - fingers crossed I will be whipping it off at the weekend and giving it to a mate who is a scooby fanatic who's an EX R1 rider whose dad is a whiz at welding who is going to weld it up for me - this time I am thinking of welding a solid U shaped piece in the lower arch the aim being to keep the thing from parting from the centre stand I will let you know how I get on...

Mine cracked on the RHS leg just above the weld where the cross tube is welded on. The repair also cracked. I've always suspected the stand has to handle some serious twisting forces. Sean's experience backs up that idea. Mine has been ok since I added the cross braces. It has 25 x 3 steel strips across the front and back so the twisting forces are braced to some extent. This shows some added metal. There are now braces front and back below the cross tube. Be careful where you add the metal as the return spring needs room to move.
