have tried everything to fix my oil cooler from liquid metal to metal putty but does not stop it. it has a hair line crack in it where the banjo bolt screws in to the oil cooler. yamaha want 350 for a new oil cooler. i hear of people takng them off but i would rather not as i spend alot of time stuck in traffic. (london) dam place only knocked off 3 times this year . . so do not want it to over heat. does anyone know of any companies that do replacement ones or mods. i have rang loads off breakers and no one seems to have one.

okely dokely.... you should be able to get a replacement cooler from the like of Earl's performance : www.earls.co.uk/ - they are at BRands Hatch, so not far from London. You may need to take the bike in - I'm not sure from memory what thread the cooler is and what taper it needs. If you do buy an aftermarket cooler you will probably have to sort some mounting brackets too... when mine went I bought a GSX750 cooler off ebay - the thread pitch was slightly different, but I wound the banjos in as if I were cutting a thread and it was ok.Mounted it with cable ties

I have just used some Lumiweld to repair an aluminium parts. It works really well with medium sized blowtorch. Lumiweld is quite low temperature stuff (about 350 degs C) but ally need lots of heat.
The kit has full instruction, but briefly, grind out the crack but not right down to the threads. Screw in the bolt (not tight) and fill the slot with weld. If oil bubbles through you'll have to really degrease it The weld wont work with any dirt present. The kit costs about £15 and if it doesnt fix the leak you still have some handy stuff for joining aluminium.
