How do i refit a givi rack to a diversion 6?
I made the mistake of removing it so i could have a tidier looking bike when it wasnt in use but now i really need it seen as the lass has been coming pillion with me.
It only has 3 bolt holes on the rack itself but i cant get them to line up with the two on the bike or anything.
Any advice would be great!

which rack are you referring to? Wingrack (3-piece luggage) or Monorack (1-piece)?
I'm sure there are copies of the fitting instructions on the site somewhere.

The front of the rack mounts on the pillion footrest hangers.
The back of the rack uses two vertical bolts that fasten to a Givi bracket bolted to the frame beneath the rear bodywork.
The additional holes half way down your rack are there to carry the pannier frames. They have welded inserts to maintain the strength, but are not standard Givi.

from the second image darren posted it would seem i've misplaced a couple of parts.
Numbers 6,5 9 and 10 from the diagram. If i cant find these how would i replace them or atleast where could i source spares?

He even gave me givi's phone number and they said its only sold in a new complete kit. number 10 is always the part that people leave out when selling a kit second hand because you cant get that part out of the frame when removing.

Would have thought you could have got a rawl-bolt from your local builders merchant to do the job, it only needs to expand into the hole, (oo-er mrs).

The rack on my 600 was beginning to look a little tatty (and I have a tame blacksmith) so I took it off, had it burred down and spray painted (3 coats!), and put it back together. Looks much better. Surprisingly, both indicators work and I only have one washer left over.
I know it's a small achievement, but small assembly jobs give you the confidence to try more things.
He's also recoating my side stand and centre stand. Not at the same time, obviously. He refuses to take payment too. Lovely man.

I painted my Mono rack frame - cleaned with an angle grinder wire brush, Loctite rust eater, zinc primer and good quality paint. Jobs a good-un.
12 months later its rusty. Next time its getting a powder coat or stove enamel and it will probably cost less.

It's the same paint used for weatherproofing wrought iron gates - he reckons 15 years on gates so should hopefully last a while on the bike.
If not, as you say, then powdercoating ahoy.

Mine had all the top spec but somehow the corrosion seemed to come through from below. The grinding and zinc etc is supposed to prepare the metal, but I wasnt impressed. These days I get everything stoved/powder coated as its often cheaper than doing it myself.
