As those that met him at IOW he is almost at the point of purchasing a new bike and relinquishing the ER5.
I will tell you more when he as actually aquired his machine.
Although I here he is testing the new versys today, but also high on his list is a GPZ1100 as well.

tell him to buy a Yamaha or suzuki, all the Kawasaki's that i have owned have been fast but unreliable, and hondas are dull, unless its one of those jap import 650 twin ones

I find the bike encourages me to take the odd day off. Not much help for getting me to work.

In all seriousness, the Versy looks a good bike for Steve. Certainly the insurance will be more favourable than the 1100.
I just had a look at the spec. and it appears to tick all the boxes. And it looks good.
