Check this out stores.ebay.co.uk/Dell-OutletI just bought a D925 Dual Core 3Ghz with 1 gig of ram for under £200. comes with a pucker copy of windows and a dell warranty. Catch ? - they can have a scratch or a dent in the case which is why they're seconds. Don't get a monitor though but as I'm upgrading the kid's machine it's fine as I'll use their existing one. Result.

I've often specified Dell for customers PC's and they're good kit. Those prices are cheap as chips (no pun intended!) I'm after a cheap PC for the bathroom so I can surf & 'download' at the same time Ady

The only issue you can have with dell kit is they sometimes use custom internals, like power supplies which make it far harder to fix yourself as you cannot always source the items... Other than via dell and their high parts prices.

Comes shipped with XP Pro SP2
Re fixing of bits I'm a bit handy when it comes to wielding a PC spanner or two. I'd just head to local PC bucket shop and get new stuff as required.
The PC should be good to go though.
Get the files & settings transfer wizzard running on the old and new and have a beer.
