Hi guys thought I should mention to you about a strange problem I am having eith my IE6. It has just started this morning . Every time I click on the link to read "50 most recent posts messages" my internet explorer comes up with the IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have checked out if it happens anywhere else and it does'nt. Is it my computer or is there a problem with that one particular link. Cheers

Cheers Upgrade to IE7 Pop's The software that Pro-Boards use is best suited to IE7 / Firefox etc BUT only all of the newest versions. Found that out the hard way HTH Colin PS: I am NOT Management, Only trying to help

I've just upgraded to IE7 and it's still doing the old "IE needs to close routine Sounds like a software problem & not a site problem Keith Apart from IE7 have you loaded any new programmes or updated any other software recently? It could be something running in the background that is causing the problem. ! There are so many things that "Could" go wrong its very difficult without seeing the problem to know what it is exactly

pops....any chance its your firewall not recognising the page? My Zonealarm tends to do it when it receives an upgrade...don't know why it does it but occasionally it'll lose the info it needs to accept the page in question. Try the settings on your firewall and make sure this site is allowed.

I use Opera 9.2, Zone Alarm Pro and System Mechanic. No funny problems apart from the wireless network going AOL when it forgets to send the WEP details.

I have to turn Zonealarm off when I want to go into the MIRC chat site...which is daft considering I never used to have that problem.

jj I have only just seen your post re my firewall. I have never had any trouble with it that way before. The problem has resolved itself after a registry clean up, so I am presuming / hoping it was that as evrything is OK now. Regards

Always worth doing a reg clean - I do one once a month on all my compooter-machines because I'm forever installing and uninstalling software to test.I also don't use ZA... have had problems with it in the past - use a hardware firewall and avast ! AV - sems to be the best freebie out there. Also run spybot every week.

I did routine maintenance on my pc last week and found i had got a Trojan. Cleared it by using this software that you can try free for a month. www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/Spybot revealed i had got 37 major problems.

I presume you've tried turning it off then turning back on again? ;D Zonealarm? I'd rather slam my genitalia repeatedly in the fridge door than have that carp on any of my machines. Not that I feel strongly about it or owt Ady MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solitaire Expert)
