Trev wrap a black bin bag round each hand.
Keeps your handies nice and dry and also gives you somin to carry your dirty laundry back home in. ;D

Over gloves at this time of the year ? If its raining just get a pair of thin leather gloves, OK for scotland a few pairs. You can then hang them on the fairing to dry as you go along. Consined my winters waterproof ones to the cupboard now. If it rains and is a bit chilly, then its out with the inner gloves.

If you have medium or small hands, the free plastic gloves from petrol stations work well. Those of us with larger mits, it won't work, but look in old fashioned hardware stores, and you might fin something that will fit over your normal summer gloves. RMJ

I always find popping me hand in a frozen chicken gives good protection from the elements. As you're a pikey northerner, p'raps you could try wearing a couple of docile ferrets on your ladylike puddies.

Belstaff make a good pair, made from that waxed cotton we all used to wear (well us old 'uns anyway).
Made from the same material as their famous Trialmaster suits and very effective at keeping the elements at bay.
