hi guys can anyone advise ,have recently rebuilt a yamaha 1995 600 n diversion ,but have a slight electrical problem ,when the ignition is swithched on there is a neutral light on but no oil light ,but when you presss the nandlebar starter button the engine starts ok ,but the oil light comes on as well and goes off when you release the starter button ,does anyone no where the connections are wrong ,thank you for looking .

Sounds about right, i've got that manual upstairs that explains the testing procedure for the oil light, give me a minute and i'll modify this post. There you go, hope that helps Flymo

Yeah as Flymo says, you've got it right. Got to remember that the oil light is an oil level light and not an oil pressure light - so hence doesn't come on with ignition. Curious what sort of rebuild you done. A restoration? We gonna have some pics?
