Having a nice ride to work, nice and steady to a set of traffic lights pull clutch in.... BANG dam cable snaps.... Luckly i was early enough to make a trip to bike shop who had one in stock. All i got to do now is ride home with no clutch. Thankfully at 22:00 should be little traffic and i can cruise the trip. Aint half fun starting in 1st without getting the front wheel in the air due to too much gas though.. Got some funny looks at traffice lights with such a jumppy start....

Why didn't you call me, bet no one has seen one divvy towing another.... Interesting question for our boys in blue perhaps ..... I've been towed by other bikes (which we understood to be legal) & by a Landrover (which we understood to be illegal!). This was many moons ago. So.... Were we correct? And has that changed at all??

Lucky for me it will start in gear...... Which it has done several times tonite. Why is it that traffic lights are always at red... Have towed a bike before, would never do it again, and def would not like to be towed on one.... Thanks for the offer mid life, but had i not been able to make it green flag would have been called out to get me home. Hopefully the cable i have will fit and i will be running like a good un again tommorow. Did toy with the idea of replacing after work before setting off, but decided that i could not be bothered to mess around in the dark,

Cable fitted, but bite is right at end of lever no matter how i set it. Does anyone know if the lever at the clutch end is on splines? Do not want to start messing around with it if it isnt. If it is i might be able to get some free play back into cable.

Does it start when it's in gear? My Fazer 6 wo'nt, nor my Div 9. Just had a look and the clutch has a switch at the bar end, which is opperated by the lever, so even with no cable attached. When its pulled back it allows starting in gear as it thinks clutch is disengaged. Thankfully i gripped the lever in a vice like grip, for some odd reason....
