Weather's looking freat for tomorrow's practice run. A bit cool first thing but will warm up - could be up to 15 deg according to local forecast. Great riding conditions today, wore my summer gloves for the first time this year - hope Sunday is the same.

......... if it's anything like today it'll be wonderful. I was only going to HughendonM40 (Triumph dealers), a round trip of 54 miles. When I got home I found I'd done 90 miles ;-) (No - I wasn't following Apricot!)
Actually got a bit hot at one point - might have to unzip the jacket liner tomorrow :-)

Today was a good day Started off cool-ish but had to ditch one layer of clothing when I stopped for brekkie, & my over-trousers when we stopped for coffee Roger couldn't quite keep up the pace, so met us at Wendover Woods! Wendover Woods is a nice place to stop. Set your suspension to 'squidgy' for the road-bumps on the entrance & exit . Mac & Debs were even slower so met us at Fox's Diner!! Here's a few pics of some reprobates, in no particular order of reprobate-ness ; Roger reasoning that a pelvic thrust might do something for me ... Jools being herself!! Roger inspecting Jools' shiny pipes ... Paul explaining to Mac .... .... how to throttle Debs! (Looks like he's got the hang of it.) Jools checking if any of her beaus had seen fit to text... Finally - A nice Trophy 1200, in case you fancy making an offer I particularly enjoyed the run from Stadhampton to Fox's Diner - don't know why You wanted pics of the Run?? Tough - You'll have to come along to see for yourself Martin.

Got up with bad hangover from Brothers birthday. Decided that it was a great idea to join in the Postcombe practice. Checked clock 8:30am. Decided that unlikely to make start at Dashwood so will meet at Foxes Diner. Went to get bikes out. FJR battery flat again (mental note- turn off radio!!) so decided we would both go on Debs Fazer. Called in at Jacks Hill Cafe on route to look at Vintage Motorcycle Owners Club congregating ready to start on their Banbury Run. Carried on to Fox's. Fuel gauge starts flashing just past Oxford on the A4074 but I ignore Sainsburys as I'm still nervous about possible contamination. We got to Foxes about 11:30 had a cup of tea and a look around the bikes and shop. Met up with Cliff, a D9 owner who has attended Postcombe in the past. Had a chat. By 12:30 no sign of the practice posse so decided to get some fuel. Rode another 5 miles down the A4074 to the BP garage. Problem - no unleaded! Asked where next nearest garage is? Back up to Foxes turn left and 4 miles down that road. Running on fumes we made it to a little village garage. (mental note - fill up earlier!) Returned to Foxes to find posse had arrived. Teffort supplied tea and I shamefully explained why I was riding Debs bike After a quick chat said goodbye to Martin and joined in with Fiasco, Jools, Ade and Roger in a spirited sprint back to the Dashwood for a drink and a tongue lashing from JJ (Don't ask). Ended with a steady bimble back to Northampton via Thame and Buckingham. Perfect hangover cure.

Thanks to all that came along for the practice today, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Martin - sorry about the posted limits in the first section, hope the second and third (not fourth as you had sloped off) sections were more to your pallette !!
I have forgiven you for overtaking the run leader, although I might not be so forgiving on the day !! Thought it was an excellent move by me to mark the next junction as I am sure Roger would have done it next :-) Good to see Mac and Debs, who seemed to enjoy the last section that they did with us.
Had a nice ride with Ade and Jools after drinks at the Dashwood and showed them the first half of the Ace run, which wasn't as muddy as last time I did it with Teff, but still a little strip of tarmac showing through the gravel !!
Ade and Jools, sorry that we got split up, you must have seen my point to a speed camera as your turn off point, I waited round the bend confused, then it clicked as to what must have happened. Chased back but gave up when I realised I would never guess which way you would have gone at the next junction. Hope you made it back on route ok.
The route is nicely set in stone now - approx 95 miles if you finish at Fox's but would recommend that those that normally go from there, do the last 30 mins of the run which goes past the M40 anyway (nice deserted roads) - total back to Dashwood probably about 110 miles.
Thanks again Guys
Dave ;D

Well, Thaqnks to Dave leading the run, Paul and Martin for being back markers. Its gonna be worth going to the actual run just to see Martin be a back marker.
Dave I thought your signal was to take the next left SP Maidenhead so we did, Although I was not sure you ment that. Me and Jools rode along the thames for a short while and then filled up again. Then made our way for Bracknell Bagshot Guildford Where we parted company as She went on the A25 and I on the A281. Got home at 6:15pm having done some 300ish miles.
All in all a great day.

Howdy all.....Big thanks to Dave...fab day out and also a big hug for sorting my Hotgrips. Ade, I was back marker for some of that....but managed to fob it off on you ;D Got home about 1810hrs and am totally knackered....not surprising considering the amount of miles we did...bliddy hell....lol! Atleast I'm getting fit for the Scotland run ;D Nice pics Martin....but can you cover me up...I'd hate to cause someone some pain if they seen me on them! I have some pics as well that I'll post in a bit! Cheers again Dave...nice to see everyone again and look forward to the Main event! Jools and Helga!! ;D P.S. The reason CM got a tongue lashing was because he'd decided to pull off in front of me when he was marking a junction...and then had the nerve to race me up the hill...and win!!!! Didn't even let me have the fun of passing a Fazer....mean CM...nasty man!! On a good note though...Debs gave him a reet good telling off for being a silly child and racing a poor old Divvy! ;D
