Can the R6 blue spot brakes be fitted to a Diversion. I believe the bolt hole spacing is ok, but will the disc align and will bluespots clear the wheel spokes?

I know people have fitted them to the 900, but dunno if they'll fit the 6. I have gold spot sumitomo calipers on my FZR - I'll measure them later to se if they''ll clear the wheel spokes. If they measure the same as FZR ones then they won't fit a 6.I tried on Helga.Could make up a different spacer to get it right, but don't have access to a machine shop any more.

Oh yeah.... all the rest is fine - bolt spacing is pretty mch standard Yamaha, and the disc lines up perfectly .And you really need to get an R1 master cylinder or similar cos the brakes feel *very* wooden with the std cylinder (at least for the FZR - would have thought the Divvy would be the same...)

I'm after some for the Divvie 900 and will get the master cylinder as well. Thanks for the tip.
PS I believe there's a special tool for stripping the blue and gold spot calipers. Do those covers actually screw out?

No. They screw in - clever, eh ?

don't forget the hoses...standard divvy hoses are a bit tight (but just fit), but the balance pie blew on mine about two months after fitting blue brakes...

No. They screw in - clever, eh ? That's me confuseled (never too difficult to achieve) Just grabbed a set "buy it now" £75 off Fleabay. Mastercyl, calipers and hoses. It seemed reasonable as rebuild parts for the Divvie brakes are quite a chunk. The Divvie brakes are fine, but I fancied some Blue Spots

I paid £40 for my far nicer gold ones.... and thought that was a good deal.No lines or master cyl with that though.

Hey Blue will do :-) I think its an ok price - they dont come up often (not as complete set anyway). I was thinking about braided hoses for the Divvie brakes, but they are at least £50, so thought what the h*ll. Also its not far away so will collect and pay cash.

Don't you need to fit the floating discs as well?
On the Divvy I'm sure it's the caliper that floats, where on modern bikes it's the disc that floats.
I may be wrong and stand/sit/lie corrected (which ever position I'm in at the time) if I am.

I wondered too.... but olddivvy has fitted them with the solid discs and says they work ok.You won't get the full benefit, but they've gotta be better than the standard awful brakes.I'm gonna try a GSXR master cylinder on the FZR.... cos I happen to have one in the cupboard.Hopefully it'll improve the feel. Also gonna fit a set of Ducati Brembo discs cos they fit a treat (Aprilia ones are the same too).

The Divvie non floating disc bothered me but some trawing through old posts agreed with Gurninman. The calipers have 4 pistons, so if all is working ok (Aaagh not that again) they should be ok. I think the benefit with floating discs is they can expand more freely so less likely to warp. Now for some R6 discs

Funny, I paid about £15.00 for mine, including postage? Two straight hoses from the master cylinder to each caliper.

Braided hoses - £15... Ah well. But add in caliper rebuilds at about £30 for parts (+ the hassle), I still got a new set of brakes (and 1/3 worn pads) for £40 extra so I'm happy enough.
My Divvie calipers are working ok, but sooner or later they'll go west. The rear is looking questionable so the fronts wont be far behind.
