new screen, longer with a sweep-up is great but I need a new set of attaching screws.. little black plastic? The old ones are getting loose and one has even fallen out. So I have 2 questions: 1) anyone know of a supplier and 2) I can't seem to find out how to get the nut side out / in to the fairing. Anyone give me a clue? ;D thanks

Hi paprika On offer at M&Ps at the moment www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/548365/Bodywork/Fasteners/OxfordUse a bluntish impliment to push the old ones through from the holes, the new ones will push back in and then tighten the screws up into them hth Keith Some will say that the plastic type screw is better then the anodised metal screw because that will snap before the screen breaks in case of an accident. Personally have never had that happen, just thought I would mention it.

Yes,
I've lost a screw on my screen, but can't see the nut on the inside of the fairing. Will these screws help me or do I have to strip the whole console/fairing down?

Don't, whatever you do, buy the anodised alloy screws - the heads *will* chew up at the sight of a hex key.I also don't like the plastic ones - they look a bit crap.I have titanium screen screws, but only because they were the same price as stainless when I went to Infinity at Hangar Lane Slow Poke - it's not a nut as such, it's a rubber wellnut which when tightened expands to tighten against the hole in the fairing. It may well be still there. If not, you just need to remove the screen and fit a new one.

depends what colour bolts you want, I used the black plastic bolts that they use on number plates, and used small rubber washers between the nut and bolt on the face of the screen

thanks all, as usual great advice! I found them (black plastic) before I read the responses - for £6.50 which i think is ok. I didn't realise they expand as you tighten them.. makes sense though! thanks again andrea

When I changed the screen I just took out the old nuts which were badly phnacked & yes replaced them with alloy pretty colour ones that seemed to just fit into the vacant hole.
To get to the rubber wellnut it looks like I have to get behind the black console. Do these plastic ones just expand behind the screen like a rawlplug.
Paprika any chance of a picture?

Why oh why oh why oh why are screen screws so bliddy expensive? Everywhere I look they cost over a tenner for six piddly little things. Maybe plastic number plate jobbies are the best bet after all.

My titanium ones were about £6 (which is why I snapped them up)

The rubber wellnuts might be reusable but if not they can be pushed right through. New ones go in from the front and expand like little rawl bolts.
