Hiya,
Anyone know what the min width tyre would be ok on a 6J car wheel ??
From what I can find it sounds like a 195 but thought i would check with this font of knowledge ;D

Hi JJ,
Wheels on the car are 5.5J , I have aquired (been given) a set of 14x6J Borbet alloys to fit.
The original steels have winter tyres on them so I am goona put normal tyres on the alloys, just want to make sure I order the right ones !!

Ah right, usually the place you order them from will be able to advise you correctly of what tyres you need!
I'm sure someone on here will know for sure though!

Wheels probably ok but check the 5.5J tyre clearance on the suspension and at full lock. Should give you an idea the 6J/195s have enough clearance

mmh, I need the check the car when swmbo comes back as it has 185/65-14 on the steels..... Maybe they are already 6J and I didnt notice  I assumed they would be 5.5J (its only a corsa ) |

6j means 6" rim or 135mm
anything over 155 wide tread is acceptable.
