Saw Purple three times in the eighties I think it was. Awesome power and noise. But now there is no more Blackmore and no more Lord of course. Great everlasting music though.

Both manchester and glasgow have pointless football teams. Only decent team in the country is Brighton and Hove Albion. So there. And I wish I was going to see Deep Purple.

Went to see them many years ago at the Rivermeade centre in Reading when they were doing the Purpendicular tour. All I can remember is that it was LOUD! ;D
Enjoy!

Trev Too true Trev, I'm glad you recognise we do have decent footie teams in Glasgow. I'm a Rangers man myself but do believe the last time a Manchester Utd team ventured to Glasgow they lost 1-0 at Parkhead.

.Never been to Manchester before so a big adventure for me ;D Remember to lock all the car doors on the way out.... The MEN arena is right next to one of the worst area's of manchester. So you really do want to park in the multi-story car park that is part of the arena..... NOT ON THE STREETS.......

Yep, I saw Deep Purrple in the 1980's as well. Excellent stuff. Hope you enjoy it. . I am off to see Saxon in 2 weeks. This will be about the 25th time I have seen them. . Saw Diamond Head a few weeks ago, I was VERY suprised how good they were. Highly recomended.

Used to travel down to North London on a Sunday night to Niel Kay's Soundhouse on Kingsbury Circle. A lot of the NWOBHM bands used to gig there including Iron Maiden & Motorhead. My mate got nutted by Lemmy for trying to chat up his girl - He was so proud of that bust nose!
Best concert though was Queen at Hammersmith Odeon, Boxing day 1979. 4th row so fantastic view.
